I was thinking about ordering the 30 Day Shred. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and lost weight with it. I have not had much sucess with videos and I don't want to waste my money. please let me know if it is a good investment.

I hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee videos. I just started it and she is awesome. I work out all the time and she has my heart rate up there and its a challange. I say try it!
  • I did the 30 day shred over 45 days (10 days of each) and dieted at the same time. I'm trying to lose between 5-10 lbs and didn't see a big difference, but my endurance and strength increased IMMENSELY over the time period.

It is a hardcore workout that will kick your butt. I've done a lot of Turbo Jam and they seem like fluff compared to her workouts. I can't attest to the weight loss, but just know it's an amazing workout.

Just make sure you diet at the same time and possibly do some cardio/strength training along with it. I definitely think it's worth it though!

It's great! For the first bit you may gain a bit but its all muscle...it's a hard video but you really feel like you accomplished something when you finish it! However, if you have bad knees I wouldn't do it....this is why I am no longer doing it, Dr's orders. If not though I would certainly buy it!
  • I'm not a big video fan myself but with the winter months here, I need something to keep me interested than the treadmill. After reading all the reviews on Amazon.com, I couldn't resist. And I love it!! I haven't noticed a major "weight" change, but I have noticed that I feel sooo much better afterwards and I'm starting to see some definition in areas that I'd like to have toned. I do it once or twice a week on days I know I won't be able to get to the gym. It's tough. I have no upper body strength so some of the push ups are still a challenge for me, but I'm getting better with each week that goes by.

    Good luck!

    The shred is great!!!

This past August, I did it for a month and a half - and it kicked my butt every day!!! I lost nine pounds!!! It was a noticeable loss, too.

Some days you'll hate Jillian - she really pushes you - but if you need that kick in the pants, just do it!

If anyone out there is interested in starting another shred group, or a Jillian workout group, I'd be willing to join. (unfortunately, I am notoriously unreliable when starting up these types of threads)

The one thing I would strongly encourage you to do is to take your measurements before you begin. You'll definitely be encouraged then, even if you don't see the scale moving right away!

    Lots of Luck!!!

I haven't lost any weight with it, but I'd already lost my weight before I started using the shred.

But - when I started it I was 210 pounds and a little flabby and not so fit. This morning I did shred level 3 and knocked out 25 real boot-camper situps before Jillian called time, and I could have done more. I'm 208 pounds with much improved stamina and fitness and a 2" smaller waist. It rocks.
  • I love Jillian! All her videos are awesome! i've not tried the 30 day shred but I do have the "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism" and the "No more trouble zones". I highly recommend the Banish Fat i've lost so many inches! Be warned though she will kick your Butt!

I just started it two days ago. My muscles are SCREAMING. But you know its the good type of hurt. I picked it up from a thread around here somewhere that was about it, started a few months ago. I torrented it and then bought the DVD the next day because I like it. I like that its 20 minutes at home vs. an hour at the gym. I dont like busting my butt at the gym because I get really ugly when I get into a workout  Its nice to be able to wallow around and flail about and pant and grunt as loud as I need to. Jillian is a jerk sometimes but she makes alot of good points on the video.

Stay with it Mari - you'll get stronger so fast you won't believe it. You'll be kicking butt and moving up to level 2 in no time.
