I have read the manual, twice. I have read other HRM topics. And have google searched to no end.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to track my freakin calories!
The manual is vague and it's the entire reason I bought the thing!
I just need step by step, push here, etc to apparently understand.
I normally get this stuff pretty quick but this HRM is testing my patience.
Grrrrrrrr!!!!

i bought one Sat night and returned it after a 30 min workout Sun for the same reason. I had such difficulty figuring out what all the darn numbers were for and how to get in to certain applications. I purchased a NewBalance HRM for an additional 10 dollars and it was so worth it! Its a brand that Im familiar with and I trust and utilizing it is not hard at all.0

You would think that if most people purchase HRM to track heart rate and calories there would be a page in the manual that says, "To view calories burned."
Thanks for replying - I think I may have to purchase a different too!0 -
Is there a more complete manual online? I know that with my polar HRM the manual in the box is real basic and you can only get the full manual online.. annoying I know, but true.
Also, with my polar when your using the HRM thats when you see the calories.. like I push a button and it scrolls through different screens that show my heart rate, calories burned, if I'm burning fat or improving fitness, and how long I've been working out. Does yours have anything like that?0 -

Yes - I believe once I get to one screen, I then have several subscreens. In the picture though it shows a lil "Kcal" but I never see that on the display. It is apparently in a sub menu of a sub menu for a menu.0 -
Did you ever figure it out? I found how to track the calories... you use the exercise function start/stop during the work out. Then you hold the mode/set button until it says history (distance, fitness, history). When you are in history it will show you the workout number and then the (A)bove heart rate, (I)n the heart rate, (B)elow the heart rate zone. It will also show you the calories burned (KC).
I am having an issue with it recording new workouts. The customer service people sent me a reply to my email which didn't help very much- basically sent me to the manual and gave me page #s. I'm going to block some time off on my lunch break at work since their hours are 8-5 M-F. If you still have the HRM, maybe you could help me with this? Not sure if we work toegther if we can figure it out. I too have looked at google and nothing... I have been trying to figure this out since July 2! Haha!0 -
Vivalared - Thank you. I have one as well and could not figure it out. This helped alot.0

I actually don't look at the History. From the main time screen if you press the mode button once you go to the next screen. That screen can have one of a few pages selected. There you hold mode button down and it will cycle through the different options until it gets back to the one you started with. I usually have the HRM selected. If you already have HRM selected then you won't see it as an option to select since you are already on it.
From there you can the start top button to get your work out going. When done press it again.
Typically I have the bottom part showing the Average and Max heart rates during the workout. If you want to see the KC then you can just hold down the lap view button until KC shows up.
Typically the top part showing the amount of time working out, you can cycle through those by just tapping the lap/view button instead of holding it down until the timer shows up at the top.
Good luck0 -

Thank you dirkk1  !!
I have had mine for just a few days and have been studying their manual trying to figure it out. I worked out today and had no idea that I actually had to 'start' the workout. *duh* When I finished working out it didn't save anything and I couldn't find where the manual addresses how to record or begin a session.
It seems like its going to be a great HRM but they really need to work on the instructions.0 -
No problem, glad it was of use. I noticed I left out a word there lol.

Yep, it's been working for me fine. Also, a tip if it isn't picking up your heart rate very quickly. Before working out, I just run my finger under some water and then rub the rubber contacts and it usually starts reading it within a couple seconds.
Also, if like me you just leave it on the same screen after stopping it, then after clearing the previous workouts info by holding that top right button then I just cycle the mode button through the pages until I am back on the exercise page which makes it start checking for the HRM again and you see a couple lines flashing.0
