Hey there! I am looking for buddies that have a real problem with emotional eating. I struggle with this everyday and would like to have some people to chat with about this.

I am an emotional eater. I struggle with anxiety and it's my method of choice to deal with the anxiety. I'm trying to break the cycle once and for all. Feel free to add me. I have a toddler at home and want her to grow up being healthy and be able to make healthier choices.

I struggle with emotional eating as well...bored, stressed, or lonely, you name it, I'll eat it!

I found keeping a journal helped me a lot! Also, as cheesey as this sounds...I wrote a letter to 'food' and broke up with it! It was like I was in a relationship with food, and cheating on all the people I loved with it! It was like a bad affaire, or like a lover that beats a woman...as much as I loved it, it hated me, and treated me badly!

Then I started a new relationship with healthy habbits! I promised to stay true to these healthy habbits, healthy foods and smaller portions...I promised that I will not stray back to the abusive relationship that I was in. It's tough...but I mourned it and moved on!

Take out was my biggest weakness, and potatoe chips...I don't even crave either anymore! I know I still have a long way to go, but it didn't take me a month to get in the state I was in, so it will take more than that to get out! I made the change mid May, and already I feel so much better and it's been 3 months! I still have a ways to go, but I look forward to it!!

I love the "break up" idea! I'm so going to try that..... Dear Potato Chips- It's not me, it's you. Certainly the most unhealthy relationship in my life and writing helps me in all aspects. I'm in the same boat, I do great until dinner time then stress wins out and I binge at dinner. Feel free to friend me, I need all the help I can get!

I know exactly how you feel. When things get tough and I am stressed to the max I look for anything and everything to put in my mouth. Not easy to get away from it either.

Support from others who experience the same thing woudl be great.

I don't know if I would call myself an emotional eater, I call myself an everything and anything eater. I eat because I'm board, sad, happy, It doesnt even have to be tasty if it's within my reach I will eat it till it's gone. However I have been working on this and over the past few months with MFP holding me accountable for everything that I put in my mouth I have started to think - "is this worth the calories?" That way of thinking has helped me with my control. If you bite it write it! Add me if you like.

Hiya! Feel free to add me (and anyone else here who would like to can do so too). I struggle with emotional eating every day. It it my main coping skill when feeling stressed, bored, or any other uncomfortable emotion. I'm trying to beat this through various techniques. I would be open to talking about it with you and offer support!
  • Special K has some chips that are really good (sour cream, cheese, all kinds) ~110 calories for 27 chips.
