Any tricks/tips for the weekends? I seem to never log Saturday or Sunday and always over indulge. I always feel like Mondays are my 'make up' day for eating like crap over the weekend. It's hard because we always have birthday parties, family events and cookouts. HELP!

Eat smaller portions. Bring a healthy dish to the party.
Other than that, my advice would be that you have to decide that you want to lose weight more than you want to eat a lot of food. It's just food - there will always be more. You can try something again. You don't need to eat/drink all of it in one day. A few bites will suffice.
You've come too far to be derailed by a backyard BBQ.0 -
I log weekends to embarrass myself, then I know exactly why I didn't lose any weight. My problem is alcohol.0

Force yourself to log, you can take baby steps, if you eat too much of something one weekend, eat less the next. If you don't log you will never really know.0

I agree with logging it. It puts it all into perspective and is likely you make you not want to eat it if you KNOW you're going to log it. Not logging it is giving yourself a free pass to do the same thing every weekend.0

I always log my weekends. Usually I can anticipate what food will be available in advance. Examples: I'm going to a BBQ or a specific restaurant or my mum's house - I'll look up menus online or ask my mum or whoever what kinds of foods will be on the table then I research calories for a variety of things. If I can't guess what I'll be eating then I simply eat small portions.0

^^^ This. I find it helpful to log everything. Irregardless of whether or not you went over. It helps to plan for an indulgence too instead of just letting an indulgence happen.0 -
Weekends are my enemy too. I decide it really is mind over matter and I will not continue working hard through the week just to find myself up 2 pounds on Monday morning due to drinking and the inevitable snacking that comes along with it.
Another tip .....I am starting to change my workout routine so that my off days or rest days are not on Friday and Saturday. I know that if I get a good work out in at the gym or a bike ride,.....I will not want to blow it with poor choices,.....and or I will have burned off extra so that a treat or minor diet change won't wreck my week of progress !0 -
thanks everyone! my mini goal for the week- LOG EVERY DAY!0

Start logging Saturday and Sunday....
So, you have HOURS extra per day and yet can't log in and post what you eat for just a couple minutes? But you CAN do it when you're busy? O.o0 -
Do you have the MFP phone app? If you do, there's an option to have it send you reminders through the day to log in a meal if you've forgotten. I just recently turned mine on and I love it! I was having the same problem you are. It's also nice to have MFP on my phone so it's with me wherever I go. Good Luck!0

Discipline and will power.
Also, have a cheat day. Sunday's are usually mine no exercising or diet.0 -
I'll have a healthy snack / small meal before going to a party so I won't be starving or go buck wild. Usually if I'm satiated I am good about having just a taste of my favorite things. Weekends are also my only times when I can fit in longer more intense workouts. So even if I'm not eating as well as I do during the week it tends to even out.
Good luck!0
