(Well Meaning) Sabotage

The mother of one of the kids I worked with just handed me a King Size Reese's Big Cup, because she knows I love peanut butter cups.

There are 400 calories in each package (200 per cup.) It's sitting here on my desk at work.

I just need to find about 7 people to share it with!

Do you have the calories to spare for the day? If so, eat it.

If not, give it away or even... throw it away.

You could save it for your cheat day and if you don't have a cheat day then toss it out. Out of sight out of mind.

Go for it, if you are worried about the 200 calories, hit the treadmill first and work them off.

I like to look at the heart rate monitor and figure out what I've worked off. 140 calories can of coke, 200 calories Peanut Butter cup, 330 scotch egg, etc.

    Keeps me entertained

Are you planning to give them up forever? Wouldn't it be a good idea to figure out how to incorporate the things you love into your life for the long term? You could exercise to get the calories back, you could share it, you could cut it up into smaller portions or enjoy a bit and throw the rest away!

Store it in the back of your freezer and forget about it for now. They taste good cold so cutting each one in half and having it would be a nice treat while being careful.

I'm willing to take one for the team. To save you from temptation send it to me for safe disposal........it will only mean an extra half hour running or so....

It's still sitting on my desk. I think I'll take it home; I had a pretty light lunch - if I decide to indulge, I'll make my husband eat half. If not, I'll chuck it in the freezer for another time.

Bit late seeing this (!) but if ever you're in a similar situation, think about how long you'd have to work out vs how long it actually takes to consume the same amount of calories. If you're lazy like me, it's enough to stop you eating it.

On the other hand, if you fancy a treat and do have spare calories then that's what it's all about. No need to deprive yourself unnecessarily.

We have a table at work for food that's meant to be shared. Bagels. Candy. I even put seedlings for pepper plants there. Share it. Don't eat it all yourself... :)

Just because you are making changes - does not mean you need to give up things, just account and accommodate for them if you really want them. Work them off if you want it :)

We only have one go around on this marble so might as well enjoy it while we are here!

Cut into pieces and put them in the fridge and then just have 1 piece per day or every few days. It's nice to have a treat every once in a while but just don't go overboard.

LOL - it's funny this post showed up today. I had put it in the freezer. I noticed this morning that my husband has eaten about 3/4 of it so far.

Well, THIS time it's a good thing! Enjoy the last bite or two and work out a bit longer!
