Clothing as I got bigger

I've been a fat man for a lot of years, it started a year or so after high school. Video games and cable tv, VCR's then DVD's. They all gave me the opportunity to sit and do nothing. I would go on diets and lose weight only to gain it back plus some. I hated to get rid of clothes because I didn't know where I was going to be. I have some clothes that have gone out of style and are back in before I've started losing. I plan on going through my clothes this week and anything that is TOO big is going to Goodwill or Salvation Army. That way the comfort of getting bigger isn't there anymore. I found a pair of jeans that I had bought they were a size 60, yes a 60 inch belly, I'm only 5 foot 6 so I was almost as big around as I was tall. I now fit comfortably in 46-48's depending on how they are made. I'm keeping those jeans just to remind me of where I was and how high I let myself go. I love football and was buying jerseys at great prices a few years ago. They got here and only one of them fit, one that I special ordered in a 6xl. The others were way to small so I packed them away for thinner days. Well I got them out today and I can put them on, they aren't comfortable but they are closer to comfort than ever before. Now I have a pair of goal jeans and a few goal jerseys,
What are your plans as you lose weight? Are you going to keep them just in case or what?

I don't ever plan on gaining the weight back. Give them away and start anew.

I've given a lot of my clothes away recently (six bags of them!) and I've still got more to go. I've been the same size for the past 3 years or so (but it could be that the clothes in shops are getting bigger, but labeling the sizes smaller)
I do have a dress that I want to fit back into when I hit my goal weight, and intend to stay at my goal weight!

I've also given away a lot of my shoes (25 pairs out of 42...very sad day) but it's because my feet are shrinking as I lose the weight and the ones I had were too big. I'm planning to re-stock the shoes though lol

I agree, always get rid of big clothes so you can't just pull out an old pair of pants if you slack off (pun intended) and gain a few pounds back. Personally, I also like living a life of owning few possessions and absolutely nothing I don't use. I usually only make it a few months in each new pant size at the absolute most (though I'm at a 6, so I can't go down very far from here). I just buy used clothes and donate them back when I undergrow them. It's a nice feeling, getting rid of big clothes. Sort of cathartic.
