Am I giving up too much at once

Hello,
In the past week I have started working out to Insanity everyday and sunday as a rest day. I have given up "EVERYTHING" that is bad (fast food, sweets, alcohol, fried foods, white pasta, white bread, soda). I have not cheated once in the past 8 days. I keep changing my goals from 1 pound weight loss to 2 pound weight loss every couple days. I started out with 1560 calories and now im down to 1200 calories. Now I'm afraid that maybe I'm doing too much and im going to hurt my weight loss. I want to lose weight so bad and I'm not a patient person....Please lend any advise:)

The best advice I can give you is to listen to your body. If you feel like you are doing too much, tone it down just a tad. You're making a lot of great changes, but your body may be trying to tell you that you're doing it too fast. Cutting out all "bad" foods and starting an intense workout regimen is a lot to do in a week. Plus, you don't have to completely cut out everything! There are no "bad" foods. Everything is okay in moderation0

If I were in your situation, I'd stick with the workouts, but eat more, and lower my weight loss goal to 1/2 lb a week, or 1 lb at the most. It sounds like you're working really hard with 6 days of Insanity, and 1200 calories isn't a whole lot of food. You might see some good weight loss at first, but if you're only eating 1200 (and I hope you're eating some exercise calories back, netting at least 1200?), eventually you may find that the weight loss has stalled, you're hungry, and lack energy for your workouts and/or the rest of your day.
And cutting out every "bad" food would be rough for me too - total deprivation of something just makes it harder to resist in my world. I allow myself treats - not cheat days, this isn't a diet I can cheat on, it's my lifestyle, which includes the occasional cheeseburger, ice cream, alcohol, etc.
I know it's hard to be patient, especially at the start - you're gung ho, you're working hard, you want to see results NOW! :bigsmile: But, as much as it sucks, the best way to drop the fat and get to a fitter, healthier you, is slow and steady.

I'm 44 years old, 5'8" and as of this morning 137lbs. I eat around 1800 calories a day, I don't go hungry, I enjoy all kinds of foods that I love, and I'm losing fat & feeling great. It can be done! This is quite possibly one of the best pieces of feedback i've read on the forums and i've been here for 50 days now. I hope your ears are tuned in. One thing I might add is that your discipline thus far is commendable, BUT be careful. Do the reading and most of all don't give up! There WILL be "bad" days and good days.
