Blisters

Ok, MFP buddies...does anyone else have an issue with your feet blistering when running on the treadmill? I usually run for 60 min-I use the interval setting and walk 2 minutes, run 8. I noticed last week I had 2 blisters on one foot, 1 on the other. One of those came from sneakers I didn't realize were now too big, but I've purchased another pair that fit great. I'm wearing good socks-not too thick, not too thin, and having wicking stuff in them-so I don't know what the deal is. AND I have this icky bruise under my big toenail :frown: Anyone had an issue? If so, what the heck do you do?!

    Where do you get blisters?

I get them on the arches of my feet (more from outdoor running - but that's because treadmills scare me) - even after getting shoes fitted for flattish arches etc. In Australia I used to use Glide (an anti chaffing stick - that I'd put on before my socks) in the UK (because it was easier to find) I just bought some vaseline, does the same thing. Find I blister heaps less.

no idea on the bruise sorry :(

One was on the end of my big toe-talk about painful! The others are kind of on the sides of the ball of my foot. And today, I noticed an irritated area on one of my arches. I'll have to see what I can find-thanks for the suggestion!

Considering your weight and age and medical history, it may be time for a diabetes test. What you describe sounds as if it is beyond the normal friction blisters from running.

I thought about that, but the last two times I've been in for a checkup-end of March and about 2 weeks ago-my sugar was solidly in the normal range. I habe to be extremely careful about it, so I get it checked regularly!
