I've been doing Insanity for 2 weeks now & I love love love the intensity of the workout. But, I have been waking up in the middle of the night with major cramps in my legs & feet. I'm not sure if I'm not drinking enough water or maybe my body needs more potassium (sp). Yesterday, during my workout I got an extremely painful knot in my lower leg (outer part of my calve).. I also run & hike (something I might need to eliminate)

Any suggestion or input would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Sounds like you already pinned the possible source. Low potassium will definitely cause muscle cramps, as will dehydration. If you're dehydrated though, there are other symptoms like headache, dark urine, and lost elasticity in skin. Try some higher potassium foods or take a supplement, you might get some relief.

You need more potassium...eat bananas. When I was swimming in high school we had to eat a banana for breakfast to prevent cramping

All of the above is correct, I sometimes get the same thing on my off days if I am just bumming around and not really eating too much.. and that is the WORST feeling of waking up and immediately agonizing leg cramp.

Thank you very much. I eat banana's.. But, truth be told not very often. Maybe a supplement will be better for me.. I'm a ninja at night when I get a cramp, I can jump from a deep sleep clear across the room in 2.2 seconds.. LOL

hmmm... didn't know that. What I do know is, if I don't strech legs before hopping on my bike I get the worse calf cramps... then I have to stop in the middle of my workout
