Could Broscience Actually Be Ahead of Real Science?

Interesting article that talks about some of the ideas Arnold and his colleagues discovered without doing actual controlled studies. Their research involved trial and error.

My opinion on the topic: I don't think broscience is too far off. The methods have been tested by people who have gotten results. The downside is that they really don't know why they got the results or if there were other variables that could attribute to those results. Does that make the methods completely wrong? Not necessarily!

    if you get enough monkeys and typewriters in a room together eventually you'll get the complete works of Shakespeare.

    As the comparison relates to this broscience, it's possible that we're talking about highly literate, fast-typing monkeys.

    They can get great results without having good methodology.
