Question for all polar users. Do you wash your chest strap in the machine like the directions say or how do you clean yours? I have been having trouble with mine reading heartrate so probably just needs washing? I did try hand washing but didn't seem to help. Ideas anyone??

I rinse it off with warm water after each use and then at the end of the week I just use some dial dish soap and warm water to clean it. Then let it air dry.0

I take it into the shower with me after the workout and rinse it out with warm water and pat it dry with the towel. Been doing this for the past 2 years and it's works and "smells" great!0

After every time I use mine, I rinse it off under water. About once a week I toss it in the laundry but not in the dryer. I make sure I pop off the "reader" before I do either. Seems to keep the readings more accurate since sweat will build up.0
