Hi! Day 1 on my journey!

Hi, I'm Adila and I've joined this community today. I'm from Portugal and I'm 33 years old. I currently weigh 113 kgs/252 pounds, I'm 1,69/5ft7 and I aim to be under 70kgs/154 pounds.
The clothes on the picture( i hope it's successfully uploaded) used to fit me , but I've gained so much weight these last 6 years. Although I've never been thin, I was happy enough with my body. i could say that being broken-hearted 6 years ago has lead me to this, but if I'm being honest with myself, the love of food is what got me to the weight I am today. I really can't follow a diet, so I won't even try to this time, but I've reduced the amount of times I snack and when I do I go for chunks of mellon or drink green tea ( just to keep my mouth busy, I guess). I really love eating, but I'm trying to educate myself , because I know I'm not even eating because I'm hungry, but simply because I want to. I've browsed the success stories page and I found them truly inspirational, I strongly believe that this time I'll make it, because you lot really seem to know how to keep one motivated. I've managed to lose 20-25 pounds in the past, but oddly enough lacked motivation to continue.
from 11 to 19 yo, I had dance classes( 10 hours a week, sometimes 14), so I'm no stranger and I enjoy it. I plan on doing Jillian M. 30D shred in the mornings and a Zumba dvd when I get back from work.I also decided to walk (27 minutes) to the train station instead of catching the bus. I hope this is a good enough plan so my old clothes will fit me once again.

I figure this place (I am new, too) is like a making a budget. When you make a budget for clothes/groceries/bills and stuff, you should start by just recoording everything spent to see where your money goes, then after you get a feel where you are spending, you make changes.
So it's probably a good idea to just record food/exercise that you are doing normally, to see where you are, where calories go, etc, then after a couplle weeks, see where the best places to change.
Being Here is a GOOD START! Good Luck0 -
Welcome Adila! I wish you much success on your new journey. You certainly can find motivation and encouragement here. I'll send a friend request.

Hi Adila
You've got to get started somewhere. No time like the present to start losing weight and I think that you'll find this program very motivating if you stick to using it on a regular basis and actually monitor and track what you eat (that's the hardest part). It's got a very good database.

Hi there!
Feel free to friend me as well....we all need each other's support. I have found the most important thing in this program is to "log on EVERYDAY".....and log BOTH your food and exercise.
You already have a "plan" in place for your work-outs.....so the next step with be for the food. Good luck to you!:flowerforyou:0 -
Hi
it's my first week too, and I'm finding it hard weighting everything but it will get better with time and I will become quicker at it. I have taken a note book so I can write down everything I eat at work so i can track it at home, plus where my pedometre too. Hopefully I can shed this 35lb in a reasonable time and keep it off.0 -
Hi! Best of luck trying to shift the weight! I hope I can keep a good log, because it seems to be part of the success in shifting the weight.Hope you can do it too.0

Today is my first "official" day too! I'll send a friends request if I can figure it out lol0

Hi, I could have written this myself. When I first started I was 256 and had no idea how to lose weight. By tracking my calories I have learned to make better choices for myself. I have lost 20 lbs so far and it is all because if MFP. Good Luck!0

Hi there! Huge congrats on your loss! 21 pounds! You must see some changes by now! I think that calorie counting is a great idea, because it makes me look at it like an 'allowance', where I can only spend (consume) a certain amount, and I really hope I can stick to my daily allowance. I think it'll be very difficult for me to resist temptation...I just hope I can manage. How hard/ easy has it been for the lot of you so far?0
