Kickboxing... do I still need weight training?

I take a kickboxing class 2-3 times a week at a martial arts studio. They work us hard, I'm always sore, and they switch up the workout every time also incorporating abs, lunges, jump rope, and quick circuits w weights sometimes. Does this only count as cardio? Should I still be lifting weights to build muscle?

Sounds like a good work out which could be enough to maintain muscle mass whilst losing weight, so up to you.0

I don't really know where to start. At the gym, all the machines and weights seem a bit overwhelming. I have weights at home too. Any suggestions?0
