Looking for advice and support

Hi, I've been a member since 1st May 2012 and log in most days. This is my first post to the message boards but I like to read the success stories which I find inspiring. I've lost a little weight but still have a long way to go. I'm feeling that I've plateaued a bit in the last couple of weeks in that the weight comes and goes day by day with limited consistent loss. My diet is very consistent and plain with homemade vegetable soups, skimmed milk, bread etc. I do exercise every day particularly bodypump and spinning. Last weekend I did a 25mile cycle straight after 1hr spinning and 1hr pump classes . I would generally have a food intake of approx 2000 - 2500 cal daily but by exercising my average would be under 2000cal.
Any advice would be appreciated and I'd like to make friends on a similar journey so please add me to your friends list if you like (not entirely sure how friends lists work but I'm sure I'll figure it out)

I would try cutting down on your carbs and increasing your protein. its worked for me =]0

Thanks Angelraguel, when I look back at my diary I usually exceed my protein recommended percentage for each week but it looks like I also eat too much sugar i.e. although my carbs are low as a percentage the proportion of sugars is high so as you suggest
that's maybe a place to start0 -
Ive had the same problem Where I feel like I'm at a plateau. I started measuring my belly and waist to see, and it's shrinking slowly which is more important than just the weight, but it is demotivating A friend of mine said if you eat the calories that it says to maintain the weight of someone who is 160 eventually youll become 1600

MFP is a really great resource to keep you focused and connect you with a wealth of fitness resources and like minded folks.
1. Log your foods every day - don't skip days, or parts of your day. log everything!
2. Analyze each day - see where it went good and where it went bad - too much fat? maybe too many carbs? over the calorie limit? Identify and plan how to correct it for tomorrow.
3. Reach out to the community with questions or advice needs.
4. Build a network of friends here!
5. Lastly, do not believe everything you read here. There is a lot of great advice, but also some misleading and hype type advice. Part of getting fit is educating yourself in aspects of health and fitness. Make sure any questionable advice is looked at with a scientific eye and look for facts, evidence, and most importantly real world proof.
6. You are more than a number. Sometimes the scale may not say what you hoped - thats fine. weight loss is not a straight line declination. Its a bumpy line that drops over time. Don't let single day numbers get your focus away from term based results.
7. Vary your exercises. Your body forms memories and can slow down how it burns fat and builds muscles. Keep it confused! Hit it hard with cardio styles. Build lean muscle to burn even more fat.
8. and above all - take your photo now! You will want to look back and have a starting BEFORE picture to proudly display along with your series of PRESENT or CURRENT photos during your transformation and continued lifestyle of fitness.
