Loose skin

I'm 5'5, 131.2lbs. 24 years old & I've never had a baby. I carry most of my weight in my belly, so it's becoming the last place to go. I have a little bit of loose skin on the underside, like below my belly button, meaning i can pinch a little off. The skin doesn't hang....yet. I honestly hope it never hangs. My fear is that it won't pull up. I'd b more ok with it sort of wrinkling and shriveling up. But I dont kno how it's going to look.
Here's a picture of my stomach now.
Right now that is fat, even the part at the bottom has fat on it. I thinks it's lifted quite a bit from the beginning.
When it does go away and whatever happens, happens with my loose skin, is it possible for it to tighten back up? I can't afford surgery nor do I want to have surgery. I'm afraid to go under the knife. Someone tell me I can tighten it up.

I will definately tighten up. It may take a little longer, because that is where you stored all of your fat so obviously it will come off last, but you will get there. Focus on toning and one day you will realize it has disappeared.0

i dont really see loose skin. i think you are being a bit hard and critical of yourself. keep working out and eating healthy. if you want a good exercise that will work every part of your body, and target your stomach in every move you do, try kettlebells. The swing is the best exercise all around you can do !0
-
I would kill for your "loose" skin. From how it looks now, it should tighten up fairly nicely in time. Way to go on your loss so far!0

If you get to the point where you can focus on toning, it will go away. It isnt really all that bad (I am sure, like with most of us, it looks worse to your eyes then ours). I have a flabby, gushy pooch too but, most of mine is from having my daughter 2 years ago. I have seen people that have tightened it up so, I am sure we can do it too. Just keep working it and pushing and you will get it!!0 -
strength training, lots of water and keep the skin moisturized. It will take time but it will tighten up.0

First of all, I think you look GREAT -- no one sees that "loose" thing but you. I see a great toned bod.
And yeah, it'll tighten up. :flowerforyou: You're young, no kids...your skin'll bounce back fine. Mine on the other hand?!? Never gonna happen. Two 9-lb. boys and over 70 lbs. gained w/each one...? That stuff ain't goin' NOWHERE.0 -

^^^^This. If you saw my arms you would be happy. You are VERY young....it will go away if you keep working at it.0 -
I agree with Tina. Your stomach looks great! Loose skin tightens up over time. Just be patient and revel in your obvious hotness0
-
Get your body fat below 20% and your skin will tighten up. YOu do not have much loose skinl and you are young too. I have 6 kids and had loose skin and stretch marks from them. Once I got below 20% the skin has tightened up quite a bit. Nothing like pre babies, but not bad for 6 kids.
So, since you are young with no kids, I think over time, it will shrink up.0 -
I have this issue too, I read somewhere that it can take up to 2 yrs to tighten back up...UM, that is way too freaking long!!!! I am interested in ANY AND ALL other suggestions besides wait....!!!!!!!!0

I asked my doctor what I can do about my loose skin (which is far worse than yours LOL mine is funky looking) and she told me moisturize, drink plenty of water, take my vitamins, and exercise. mine is noticeably lifted since the last time i saw her.0 -
My stomach looks almost identical to yours and I am in the same boat. I am really happy with my weight and everything other than just a little pooch I have. It just takes time and we'll both have flat tummies soon!0
-
Congratulations: you look terrific. It will be gone when you get to 120. I, too, have a slight pooch under by navel -- it's the last thing left but it gets smaller and smaller each week. It doesn't even look like it belongs to my body.
I'm 46, lost 103 lbs., and it's going to be completely gone in another 10 lbs. I'm confident you will be fine.0 -
your stomach looks ike it will be ok when you finish your loss! keep up the good work!0
-
I have the exact same problem in the exact same place! You are a good 8 years younger than me, so you should tighten up just fine. You've given me hope mine will get as small as your's when I add in strength training.0

I don't have any photos of the 'loose skin' I had but.. after carrying 3 kids, and being nearly 50 years old,I had kind of a shelf of fat and loose skin hanging there, kind of folded over even! IT was so gross. I have no regrets about having kids and I know I'm blessed to have them but it was hard looking at that. After losing 41lbs, the creases slowly disappeared. I'll never forget the day that the left-sided crease turned into a 'dent'. lol I was ecstatic!
I cant do situps because I broke my tailbone and have arthritis in it. I havent done any weight training but I've walked (a lot, almost 600 miles this year alone) and then finally toned up the tummy area with biking. I also do leg lifts in the water, holding onto a diving board. It's not the workout I'd get on 'land' but it has heped. I cannot believe the difference it made! I think most of the change was from weight loss and biking.
Good luck to you! There is hope! If youd like to see my 'now' pics, add me as a friend. I have a blurry, but recent pic of me in a bikini, that my husband BEGGED me to buy! I don't think I look bad for my age.0 -
Loose skin on your belly tends to hang when you bend over. I don't think you have loose skin based on the photo you posted. Here's an example of loose skin:
Edit: I got this off the internet. I would actually feel lucky to look this good.0 -

Thank u guys! I promise there is loose skin at the bottom just not a lot. Since I still have fat it doesn't hang like in the picture u gave an example with. My fear is when I do lose the fat that it will look like that picture. I'm hoping it will tighten up like you guys said! *crosses my fingers*
I'm on my 3rd week of lifting weights right now. I do Chalean Extreme 5 days a week. 3 days I lift, 2 days cardio. And I ad 2 ab exercises on 2 of the days I lift. On the 6 days I've started doing Brazil Butt Lift. Then I resst the other day. I'm hoping all this works. I've wanting to b below 20% BF, so I hope it does change when I get there like someone says. Right now, according to the calipers I'm like 30% BF so I still got a while to go.
Everyone made me feel much better saying the things they did ab my stomach. I'm really sensitive ab my belly & feel that I'm so fat. For ppl to say I look good, it really helps me. Thank u so much!
Anyone else got anything else to add? Mayb more experiences of theirs tightening up?0 -

You are doing everything right in my opinion. you definitely don't look 30%body fat! you look great! I was thinking about getting some vitamin e oil and rubbing it on my belly and thighs (i have loose skin on my thighs as well). Don't know if it'll help, but it's worth a shot!0 -

Thank u! I feel like I am 30%. Idk how right the calipers are, but my belly is pretty chubby lol. I think my friend says coconut oil is good for the skin. Mayb it was coconut oil0 -

My nutritionist didn't use calipers on me. She used the little machine you hold in front of you and it sends a pulse through your body to tell your body fat percentage. I was 33% body fat which apparently according to her scales I was at the VERY top of healthy and she was happy with that (since my BMI says I'm more than 30lbs over weight).
I have heard coconut oil works also. I may just buy a ton of different things and slather them all on. Something is bound to help. Right? lol0 -
my stomach does the same thing and it pulling in more and more..so yes i think it will go flat for sure.!!0

I don't go to a nutritionist. What happens when u go to one? I wonder if my insurance would cover it. My BMI is 21.7. I reallly need to lower my BF% I ggogled ppl w/ 30%BF once and I look a lot like them, so I feel like it's correct.
Maybe it does work! Sum1 let me kno if it does b4 I got buy it LOL0 -

I hit a plateau. I've been stuck in the 180s for about 6 months now. I went to her so she could analyze my diary. Honestly, the only suggestion she had was for me to up my calories to 1800 rather than 1600 because of the amount of calories I burn (I do p90x). I haven't googled pictures of what someone with 33% body fat looks like so I have no clue if I look like them or not. In the last month, I've seen her twice. I lost 3lbs between the 1st and 2nd appointments. I have another appointment to see her in about a week and we will see where I am at from there. I don't know if your insurance will cover it. My husband is military so I go to the hospital on post for my appointments. My doctor told me I didn't need to see the nutritionist (lol she looked at my diary too and thought I was crazy for wanting a referral), but I wanted another opinion and I'm glad I saw her. She's super supportive and so far my experience has been great with her. I trust her.0
