...a kick in the butt to get myself in gear!

I have until January 23rd (bridesmaid dress fitting for my brother's wedding) to lose approximately 10 pounds -- that's a little over 5 weeks, so about 2 pounds a week. YIKES! I have this feeling that I'm not going to make it there and that's very discouraging. I was doing great until today -- it was our annual Christmas party where I work and I splurged -- it wasn't a good thing at all. I feel like everytime I start to do good, I do really bad and end up gaining back what I had lost all in about a day to two days worth of time. So all my hard work seems to go down the drain. Is there any words of advice anyone could give me? I have a really bad sweet tooth, so it's definitely a bad thing that Christmas time is now...

  • If you're gonna have sweets, you gotta bust out a harder workout. That's all the advice I have there unfortunately as much as you probably know that. But don't feel discouraged either about the fact that you have 10 lbs to lose in a small window. You can do whatever you want as long as you push yourself. At this point, from even a scientific standpoint or a mathematical one, it's completely possible to lose that weight in time, you just have to visualize it happening and doing it. Almost like if I had an exam I thought I'd do horrible on back in college, I felt discouraged at first but then I just said to myself, "I am human and I can only do my best. If I give it my all, my 100%, it wont matter so much if I don't succeed fully because at least I did what I could. And at the end of all this, at the end of the day, all I want for myself is to do my best. Give life my all. That's all you can do too. But you CAN cut the sweets, you CAN lose the weight. It's completely possible. So do it! :)

My sister has a bit of a sweet tooth and she switched to Dark Chocolate instead of Milk Chocolate because it's better for you and she would allow herself a small amount a day if she needed it. You should perhaps buy a small stash of a healthier sweet that you can dive into instead of hitting up the other sweets you come across during the given day.
  • That's just the thing I needed to hear. You're awesome. Thanks a bunch! Great idea with the stash of a healthier sweet... even going to dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. I've actually never tried dark chocolate. We'll see how this works!

Again, a BIG THANK YOU!!!
