I found out what I need as far as proteins, carbs, and fats(as well as what they are and how they work!!) This is really starting to become more clear for me and my food diary is going to look a bit different. I am anxious to see my results now with losing weight, maintaining or building muscle and generally feeling great!

There is so much more than just eating more or eating less and exercise! I think really digging in and gaining that knowledge is so important but I realize there has to be a "curious mind" like mine to find out all this "stuff" LOL!!

I know I don't know a whole lot but I will apply what I am learning and we can all see what results I get;)

I so agree. I thought I ate healthy (and I did, actually), but logging logging logging has taught me SO MUCH about my food and food choices.

countrygal, can you share what you've found out for yourself? it is still not 100% clear to me though I think I have an idea of what eating healthy means:)

I'd be way happy to share the info with you and it's just a blog/site that's so detailed yet simple to follow. It answered every question before I could even thing of the question, LOL! http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/calorie-deficit-to-lose-weight/ I wanted to know more about the "numbers". Are mine as close to what "I" need as possible. So I just google the words "calorie deficit" because also, I did not understand what that was, not a clear understanding so I could apply it to my goals:)

The nutrition is indeed a vital part of weight loss. Eventually, I plan to add upon the information I have gathered (posted in my blog) about nutritional requirements and what a person should and should not do in this area.

Protein is a major requirement for weight loss nutrition.

MFP's tools to track food and nutrition is a BLESSING. It is a magnificent tool!

I don't think there is another site online that can beat MFP's diaries! I totally agree that they are a blessing! Awesome about your blog as well. We really need the info to be there for us when or if we decide to get healthy;)

  • I agree. MFP has the most robust food diary online. I've live strong, spark people and even the one for my BodyMedia. Paltry at best. MFP rocks!

Funny but before I found MFP I had tried 3 other sites too, including the 2 you mentioned:) I'm still here since I joined in 2007. I did no tracking here for years, just once in a great while. I finally had enough with feeling cruddy and looking worse then crud;) denise:drinker: :drinker:
