How fast do you walk on the treadmill?
Replies

I walk between 3.2-3.5 (I'm only 5 feet tall so that's a pretty brisk pace) I jog at 4.0-4.5 and a full out run is 5.0-5.50
-
depends on what i am doing while walking. If i am reading a book, it's usually at like 3.5 at a 5% incline so that i can focus on the pages. If i'm watching tv or jamming out to music, as close to 4.0 or over as i can get without actually jogging.
Mostly though, i set the treadmill to random, picking an average speed and incline. it really helps burn the calories and helps as a high intensity interval training thing.0 -
To keep myself in a fat burning zone I cant got over 2.0 and a 2.5 % incline. I do this for 60-120 mins, and it doesn't kill me..0
-
i usally walk on 6.0 for 1 min and run 13.0 for 1 min for 10 mins.0
-
That's got to be km/h not miles, right?
I jog about 10km/h to 11km/h, and cool down by walking from 7.5km/h down to about 6km/h depending on my mood.0 -
2.5mph on a 15% incline for 30 mins. I guess I'm a slowpoke but I still feel like I got a hell of a workout afterward.. like slowly climbing a neverending mountain..lol.0

In mini-breaks between running at a 6.5-6.7, I'll usually walk at a 3.8-4.0 on a 2.0 incline.0
-
I don't think I'd be able to go more than 3.2 at a 20% incline either! My treadmill only goes to a 10% incline.
I usually do between 3.5 and 7 with varying inclines. Depends if it's a running or walking day. My run days I go back and forth between 6, 6.5, and 7 with no inclines. Walking days are between 3.5 and 5 w/ inclines. I change the speed and incline every 2-5 minutes for 1- so I don't get bored and 2- I read somewhere that it helps with your weightloss so your body doesn't get used to the one speed. Don't know how true that is, but I follow that anyway. haha0 -
i usally walk on 6.0 for 1 min and run 13.0 for 1 min for 10 mins.
how does one walk at 6mph? I spy on everyones treadmill and have yet to see it. Stilts?!0 -
Anywhere from a 6-10 incline 3.5 speed0
-
I think that you guys either have really really long legs, or you aren't walking you're running!
I guess I'm the slow poke here - my treadmill is set at 2.7 (2.3mph) with a 5% incline for about 30 minutes. That pace keeps me in the fat burning heart rate zone and I feel like it gives me a good workout.0 -
I really think height is a factor or rather length of legs. I walk at 3 mph at a 8% incline and am about to boost it up to 3.1 or 3.2. at 3.5 im doing a slow jog or an extremely brisk walk with a hop every once in a while cause im a shortie with short legs.
edit: and i go for 30 mins with a 5 min cool down at 2.5 with no incline.0 -
warm up and cool down is usually 3.5mph. If I'm not feeling like running, then I'll walk at 4mph and vary the incline.0
-
I'm up to 4.4MPH...at first it was more of a run-walk to do 4MPH. I do believe being taller has also helped me to increase my speed. I'm 5'11".0
-
I think 3.0 or 3.5 is about average for walking. I could be wrong. When I am running and want a quick breath I drop down to 3.00
-
easy walk is 4.0 fast walk is 5.0.. slow jog is 5.3 anything between 5.0 and 5.3 is a weird speed for me when it's uncomfortable to either walk or run
i'm 5'5 and have long legs0 -
When I do C25K I warm up at 3, walk at 4 and run at 6.0
-
Omg, I feel like a total wuss now! I've set it at 4% this week at 3.7 to walk, with one minute jogging intervals at 4,.2 mph every other minute. Today I put the incline to 4.5 to jog and 5 to walk and nearly died! You guys are inspiring me to do better!0
-
3.7 in between sprint intervals is an easy pace for me at 5'3". Around 4.2 is where I hit that awkward no-man's-land speed. You won't find me ever between 4.2 and 6.0 on a treadmill.0
-
I do my treadmill in intervals (usually 1 to 1:30 minute intervals), start walking at 3.5 on a 3 incline (not sure the %), then bump it to 3.8 with a 11 incline, then run at about 6.5 on the 3 again. Rinse and repeat.0
-
3mph
And I only do 1 minute sprints every 10 minutes. You don't have to kill yourself to get the job done!0 -
Incline at about 8 or 9, and walk anywhere from 4-4.4mph0
-
4.5 mph but almost always 4.0 cuz i like to fill a backpack with bacon its slows me down but oh so worth it0
-
Apparently I'm pokey. I walk at 2.6mph up to 3.0. I go for 30 minutes. Oh well, we each have what works for us.0
-
I tend to go about 3.5 to 3.8 mph.0
-
Warm up at 4.0 / 0 incline for 5 minutes.
Active cardio 4.5 / 4.5 incline for 25 minutes. Sometimes I do my on version of HIIT by bumping it up to 4.7 for a minute, then back down to 4.5 for a minute alternating.0 -
I do a walk/run walk at 4.0 - 4.2 run at 5.7-6.2, I usually a 5 minute warm up walk at 4.0 then start running for 2 minutes, walking for 2 minutes... for 26 minutes
I'm still trying to run longer and haven't even thought about inclines...hmmm0 -
I'm at 4mph for 60 minutes plus cooldown.0
-
2 mph no incline because I have an artificial hip, another bad hip and two bad knees, but it's better than sitting.0
-
I usually saunter along at 3.0 mph.0
