What food to take on a roadtrip?

Mum and I are taking my sister to the airport tomorrow and it's a total of 8 hours driving, and I don't want to be tempted to eat takeaway foods (mcdonalds and things like that)
could anyone recommend any healthy snacks to take?

I normally pack fruit (apples and oranges) and veggies ( baby carrots) for long road trips. You can also make a healthy sandwich if you want and keep it in a cooler.0

Great, thanks !0

I'd take some cheese, hard-boiled eggs and a handful of raw nuts.
I may even take a flask of green tea if I wanted to really to push the boat out and resist the temptation of a Coke Zero from the inevitable vending machines that I would pass.0 -
When my OH and I go away every 2nd weekend, I usually take air popped popcorn (in ziplock bag), 140 calorie apple and sultana muffins, carrot sticks and a thermos of coffee. Oh, and some small bananas.
Sometimes some rice crackers too
All healthy and filling!0 -
I take long road trips frequently I normally will pack stuff to make a picnic lunch save's cash and is healthier. I bring sandwich fixin's fruit, granola, and nuts. Good luck!0

I'm also going on a road trip this weekend! I was wondering exactly this yesterday. I think I'm going to make a couple of healthy wraps (some sandwiches for the boys but I won't eat them), some almonds and sultanas in a ziplock bag and possibly some pepper n carrot sticks to nibble on too. I think i might steal some of the ideas from this thread too though!0

Normally I'll cut up some cucumber, carrots and celery and sling them in a tupperware to munch on, and if there's some humous lieing around in the fridge I'll take that along to dip in. Red bush tea in a flask or black coffee, plus I'll take a couple of apples and clementines. If I forget then there is usually an M&S or Waitrose at service stations where you can grab a yummy pasta salad, or normal salad or even a wrap.0
