So, I have heard all about JIllian Michaels 30 days shred and really wanted to try it. Well,I never thought I was so out of shape. I know I'm overweight but I can do the elliptical for 35mins at level 4 resistance but I could only do 15 mins of this DVD! Has anyone else had this problem? I'm also nervous doing the jumping jacks cause I have a herniated disc, but I'm still out of breath! Also, what do you log this as into your exercise log? I put it in as aerobics general. Any suggestions?

I log the 30 day shred as circuit training. I feel your pain on the herniated disc. I also have that plus a hip injury. When I first started the Shred, I huffed and puffed through the whole thing, but once you get 5 or 6 days into it, you'll be amazed at how your endurance improves. Also, i did have some back pain when I first started, but in the long run I think my back improved from the strength training. I modified some moves (not the jumping jacks), but not that much and I really paid attention to proper form to avoid injury. I'm thinking of starting up the Shred again after Christmas. Good luck and happy Shredding!!!! :drinker:
  • Thanks for the advice! You did the jumping jacks? I'm so nervous...lol. I'm going to stick through it cause I don't want this to bet me! You know what I mean. I'll switch it in the exercise diary. Thanks!! How long do I do the first one for 30 days and then move onto the 2nd and then 3rd? Thanks for all the help.

I did each level 10 times, but it took me about 2 months to do it. I really saw results though. Not so much in my weight, but in my measurements. I did do the jumping jacks, but it can't hurt to modify them or only do a few at first then work up to doing them all. Good luck with it. It's a great workout
  • Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to let you know how I do tomorrow! I'm excited. Thanks for the support to!
