    3/4 cup of egg whites
    1 egg
30 g of Kraft tex mex cheese
whatever veggies you want to add (I use mushrooms, spinach leaves and tomatoes on occasion)
    pinch of salt and pepper

Make into an omelet or scrambled eggs :)
  • You can search based on percentages? How?

Maybe I should research before I ask, but here goes. What is this 40, 30, 30 and is this something I should be doing?

I have my macros set at that level.

I've seen the ratio thrown around more in bodybuilding forums for the macros for a "cutting" (fat burning with muscle mass retention) diet than anything.

I think the "Zone" diet is actually 30% protein 40% carbs, 30% fat.

IMO it's a really good macro goal for weightloss as bodyfat. Not sure if there is an actual written program with it.

Oh, and sorry for the sidetrack OP. What I would eat is probably extremely bland and boring to be a suggestion.

I'm just learning about the percentages of protein, carbs and fats(good fats)and it is something you can study up on here at MFP. MFP sets you up in your food diary but you can also customize it at your discretion. I think those numbers are pretty typical for most people but I am just learning as I mentioned;)

Thanks all for your replies, denise:drinker: :drinker:

Keep in mind that as long as your total intake is in a reasonable spot, you don't really need to eat each meal with a specific protein/carb/fat content.

You can do so if you'd like, but you'd be placing an unnecessary restriction on your diet. I find it's best to remove as many rules as possible for adherence.

I agree and it will be like me to slack off once I have a handle on it, keep it simple etc. Thank you for this because it is always good to be reminded. I want to enjoy my new lifestyle, if I take the fun out of it I won't want it anymore:happy: denise:drinker: :drinker:
