Hi everyone,

I joined MFP in February and discovered a new found determination within myself! I'd like to know what new foods or beverages you have discovered since starting your MFP journey? Here are three of my most recent discoveries:

1. ICE sparkling water - Lemon Lime & Black Raspberry - are my favorites so far.
2. LUNA bar - Chocolate Covered Coconut
3. KASHI - Pumpkin Spice Flax granola bars

Best of luck to everyone on your fitness journey!

Pumpkin spice flax granola bars?!? How are they? They sound very tasty lol. The new additions to my diet are greek yogurt and coconut oil.
  • I really liked the Pumpkin Spice Flax Bars. Not an overpowering spicy flavor.

Diet Rite Pure Zero Cherry Cola (no sodium, no sugar, no caffeine)
Orowheat Sandwich Thins Minis (50 cals Ea)
Old Folks Turkey Sausage Patties (low sodium, 55 cals ea...paired with the above x2, you have a 16g protein breakfast for 210 cals)
Applegate Farms Uncured Turkey Hot Dogs (low cal, low sodium)
Wishbone Italian Dressing Spritzers - (10 cals)
    Fritos, Pringles-Lightly Salted varieties
Cuties Clementines (40 cals Ea-Buy a flat and grab one when you are hungry...it will boost your vitamin C and it is WAY better than anything else)
Chow Chow relish - It's a southern veggie relish that is low sodium, unlike pickle relish. Put it in your tuna or whatever for a similar taste & way better on your macros!!

AND THE BEST THING I HAVE FOUND....Flat Outs!! They are PERFECT for pizza's wraps, quesadilla's, etc
90 cals for the Light Italian seasoned one. I actually am making tuna wrap with one for lunch.

I was going to start this thread, and then I realized there was one! Hopefully I'll bring it back to life!

I've just discovered an intense and abiding love of chick peas (aka garbanzo beans). I knew they were in hummus, but I'd never just tried them as their own thing. YUM!

Greek yogurt. Very tasty and filling.

Jersey Mike's subs. Get a mini on whole wheat for lunch. They don't do them with mayo and under 500 calories for all the different ones I have tried.

    Mango/peach, whey protein smoothies
    Spaghetti squash

Just experimented for a quick lunch: 2 c leftover spaghetti squash, 1/4 c medium salsa, 1 poached egg (chopped) - mixed together and microwaved = yummy and filling (and under 200 calories)!

I still have a lot of experimenting to do, but I've discovered:

    * bananas in the morning (filling for me!)
    * greek yogurt
    * I won't DIE if I don't eat ALL of what's on my plate!! I can SURVIVE with just half a brat cut length-wise and not feel deprived! GASP!!
    * whole wheat english muffins
    * just in general, fruits and veggies every day
    * laughing cow and crystal farms cheese wedges

Recently I have been making myself a large salad for lunch at work and I have discovered some yummy ingredients:

--Washed organic arugula (Trader Joe's or Organic Girl)--I love arugula but just recently found that I could buy it in larger quantities.
--Trader Joe's Sweet and Spicy Pecans and Candied Walnuts. Just a few on my salad gives me that sweet/savory combo
--Newman's Lite Balsamic salad dressing--can't tell it from the full-fat version

Organic Crunch Pac Apple Slices and large containers of blueberries from Costco

    skinny cow truffle bars

i'm sure the skinny cows are not the best nutrition wise, but they satisfy my late night carb craving, and they taste awesome.

Greek Yogurt!!! Eat it for breakfast with fruit. Put ranch seasoning in it for a veggie dip and the best ever use it for Sour Cream on baked potatoes or taco salad. Best discovery ever!
