I'm 5'7 and I work out usually 3 days a week, lifting heavy weights and doing some cardio (but not a ton, maybe 30 minutes).

I started at 1200 and was miserable.

I went up to 1500 and did better.

Once I hit my overall size goals (no weight goals here; weight isn't that important to me!) I began upping my calories to allow myself to build muscle. I'm at 1650 now; working my way up to 1750 plus workout calories.

i'm on 1500, but my dietitian says i need to eat MORE when i get closer to goal, so i think you may be on too little calories at 1350 x

I'm 5'7" and just lowered my calories to 1400 because I gained a pound this week. I sit at a desk all day at work, and lately have not been exercising as much as I used to. I do eat back my exercise calories.

I was previously exercising 6-7 days a week and was at about 2000 calories per day.

5'8 eating 1900*, losing again after upping cals to be more appropriate for my workouts.

*deficit from my TDEE, level of activity is already accounted for so I don't eat back exercise cals.

I use http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ to estimate my cals. I'm on a 1570 cal diet (as I set it to sedentary lifestyle) plus my exercise cals. So far it's been working great for me. I've been steadily losing 1-2 lb a week since I started using it.

I started out eating 1500 when I weighed just over 200lbs. Dropped down to 1470 when I hit around 190/185, currently at 1350 when I hit 175.

1350 is good for me, oatmeal in the morning, sandwich or something for lunch, salad, my nonfat yogurt or cottage cheese as a snack (with chia or psillium husk to bump up fiber) and then dinner.

I exercise 3-5x a week, got lazy the past month or so didn't lose a lot. When I consciously went back to exercising regularly the weight began dropping off again, losing about 1 pound a week now, was losing 2 pounds a week when I was heavier.

I'm supposed to be losing 1.5lb a week with 1350 but I sneak in too many cookies and Tootsie roll pops so it's been about 1lb a week. Oh, I'm lightly active at work as well.

I am 5'9' 50 years old Female. I started at 200 lbs and 1200 calories.. No exercise.. lost 20 lbs in two months.
At 180 I started walking a little each day (1/2 mile to 3 miles) still at 1200- lost next 5 really slowly.
At 170 bumped it up to 1300 for a while and walked more-- lost next 5 really slow.
Now at 164- and eating at 1200-1300 calories with average burn of 600-800 a week not eating those back all the time.
I personally thing I have stalled because I am not eating enough.. but I am scared to up them to my BMR (around 1400) cuz I do not want to gain... but seriously lose more when I eat more!!!! So might have to give it a shot!!!

I set mine to NET 1,500 calories a day. I am set on "sedentary" and then log in all my exercise. Most days, I net below 1,500 due to my swimming, walking and 30d shred but occassionally (twice in 46 days) I have gone a bit over. I have not lost any weight, but my body looks quite different and I am wearing a size 16 shirt for the first time in at least five years. Pants still at size 24 :grumble: but I am not busting out of them at all.

When I started this journey I was at 1500 calories no exercise, and lost about 39 pounds. Took a side journey and got back on track at 1300-1500 calories and lost 12 pounds in about a year. Finally broke down and got my metabolic rate tested and it came back that my BMR is 1850 so my body was not releasing any of the weight. So I think you should bump your up.
