!!!Body Revolution & Metamorphosis Starting July 17th!!!

:flowerforyou: Hello all! :)

I got new workouts as of yesterday from my friend (Insanity, Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis, Jillian Michaels 90 Day Body Revolution and some other random workouts) and well- I'm ready to try them!

Insanity is way too hard on my knee and that is okay... Don't worry, it won't go to waste, my husband is going to do it as he finished p90x some time ago and has been looking for something else.

I finished the Turbo Fire Advanced calendar back in March and since then have been doing random workouts here and there, making sure to mix up cardio/strength/yoga/pilates/barre, etc. I also was teaching a lot of classes from cardio, pilates, stretchNflow and barre, so that was keeping me active... There has been about a 3 month break between teaching in a studio for me, but I am about to start at two different studios and therefore want to be in the best shape possible AND get my own workout routine going on.

It is my belief that WE (as in all people) need to make the time, put in the effort and keep moving forward in order to achieve health, happiness, and wholeness! Sure, weight loss and toning are good, but the benefits that come with spending time for yourself everyday is priceless!

 Anyway, I'm ready to start a new calendar! I have decided that since Tracy Anderson's cardio is also a bit rough on the knees (I can probably do it once a week or once every other two weeks) AND because I love Jillian Michaels- that I will be...

Get ready for it...

 DOING A HYBRID OF: J.Michaels Body Revolution & T.Anderson Metamorphosis Starting July 17th!!!!!!!

Now, anyone can join me! You don't have to be doing the hybrid, perhaps you are only doing Tracy Anderson, or maybe just Revolution, or you can be crazy and do both me! LOL Whatever your fancy, i will be writing my experiences here and welcome you to come along for the journey! :flowerforyou:

If you want to workout with me, but aren't doing either of these workouts, I urge you to check out the group I started called:

HT HT HT for the Holidays (and then some)!

There are great people in there and we are all working on moving slow and steady towards our goal! I will be there and in this thread, but thought that since I am doing a specific workout and just decided too, I'd see if I get anybody interested!

I JUST finished my workouts for the day, created my 90 day calendar so it's ready to go come Monday the 17th of July, and am drinking my recovery drink and typing this!

I will be heading out the door in about an hour to head up North to Sedona for some swimming, hiking, mountain biking, yoga and spending time with my husband and parents! It will be a fabulous time! I will not, however, be able to check these boards as I am unplugging from the forums for the weekend, but will still be tracking my food/workouts!

 So, if you have thought about doing either of these workouts but wanted a group to do it with, heck even just one person to do it with! JOIN ME! I will be back on Monday morning and ready to go!

Have a great weekend all! XOXOXO CHEERS!:drinker:

That sounds great Kim! I would like to do a hybrid of some things as well... anyway you can share your calendar?
I found insanity to be waaay to hard for me right now, especially the knees. I need to drop some weight first, but I was thinking of doing Zumba, Thirty day shred, braziilian butt lift and walk away the pounds..or something like that. I have tae bo as well and a thousand other dance, yoga, strength , cardio dvds... lol So if you could help out with any suggestions on how you format I would soo appreciate it ;)

I know you are going to be great great great in the studio and I wish you all the best. Have fun this weekend! Sounds like an amazing time!

 Amelodyangel- I am still here! Drinking more green smoothie! LOL I am actually following the exact calendar for JMichael's Body Revolution and the exact calendar for Metamorphosis! It's crazy, I know! LOL I thought I would have to change it up, but they both have rest days on Sundays and so I can do it the whole way through with no changes. I did just transfer both schedules to my own calendar so I don't have to track in two places. Even though I use MFP to track things, i'm a paper and colored pens girl! I like to see what I have done in paper form and well, I have used this system since way before MFP, and probably have calendars dating back to 2006 when I first did Turbo Jam! :D

In regards to creating a hybrid- it depends what you are trying to do. Overall weight loss? Toning? Fat Burning?

I think it's important to do cardio when trying to lose weight, simply because of the calories burned factor. Also, if you do a short burst of cardio first, or HIIT, then when you go to your second half an hour of resistance/pilates/yoga/BBL you should burn a few extra calories since your heart rate will be elevated!

I would say try to do cardio 3x, strength 2x and 1 day of pilates/yoga/isolation/stretching (focus on body weight) and of course a rest day! Just make sure that when you make your 30/60/90 day calendar that you are making each week/month more intense. So you can do this with what pound weights you use, your intensity, the time, upping the reps, or if using a program like Jmichaels Ripped in 30, just keep moving up a level.

When I was teaching, there would be people in the studio who SWORE they never felt ab pain before and well, no matter how many times I would help them, or work on their form, when we actually did the movements, THEY NEVER USED THEIR ABS! LOL It's no wonder they didn't feel anything... they weren't doing anything! LOL I say this, because you have to be your own coach and KNOW when you can push harder and than DO IT! :flowerforyou: Which I know you will!

You have a great weekend too! When I'm meditating and sitting atop the Red Rocks, I will say a little prayer for you!

Oh and for anybody wondering- I WILL NOT BE DOING the 800 CALORIE Tracy Anderson food plan! What a joke, I don't even need to go in to details about that. I also, will not be doing the Jillian Michaels plan as she cuts out a lot of good fruits and well- as Vegetarian, I believe in eating whole foods, never processed and of course start every day out with about 54 oz of green smoothie or juice. SOOOOOOO I will be eating healthy!

If you are afraid of the plans, I don't blame you! JUST EAT WHOLE FOODS!
  • I'm starting Jillian Michaels Body Revolution today!!! I'd wait until the 17th but I know me..... and if I decide to wait I will end up going off plan from now until then and eat horribly this weekend.
I have about 100 pounds to lose and I hope that this program can help me drop the first 20 pounds.

Do it! We will be close enough! I actually started playing around the workouts as of yesterday so i guess I kinda started today too! LOL But because I am doing the hybrid and I need my rest days to be Sunday, I will "start" on the 17th! yay! way to go, we will totally kill this! I KNOW IT!

Yay! Glad to see there are a few of us on here!

I just got back from a fantastic, relaxing, family, fun filled, time in Sedona! Oh, I love it there! So peaceful, so nice and such a great place to recharge!

I AM PUMPED up to start Meta-Revolution (as I'm going to call my hybrid). You know, Jillian Michaels has a great point, "Who doesn't have 30 minutes?"

Let's try to keep that as our theme... Now don't get me wrong, I know there will be times I DON'T want to workout, but again, 30 minutes! LOL And you know that after you finish, you will feel great!

Excited to do this with you guys! I will SO be posting on how I feel tomorrow! Can't wait!

Just wanted to say hello before I unpack and get settled in for the week!

Have a great evening! Let's have an awesome day tomorrow! :D

Hey! I started Tracy Anderson's Metamorphosis on July 7th. I'll be done with level 1 tomorrow and moving straight onto Metamorphosis level 2. For cardio, I'm doing her dance cardio dvd's, but I'm using a Rebounder for the cardio portion. So far, I LOVE cardio on a rebounder!

Did you create a Group on MFP? If so, can you post the link here? Thanks!

    HELLO FELLOW WORKEROUTER-ERS!

I am feeling so good! I am doing the Kick Start workout program from Revolution, so just finished my hour and then did my Tracy Anderson Meta! :) Loving it! Not sore today, but know from last week that I will be a little sore tomorrow! Luckily, I am used to barre/isolation work so it won't be as bad as some people's soreness!

Remember with the soreness to drink lots of water, get lots of good rest and maybe even do a recovery drink depending on what your workouts are! :)

Glad to see that there are some of us in here doing this!

POETIC- welcome! Good for you! Are you seeing good results!?!??! :) I know it's only been 10 days, but I bet oyu notice a difference! :) There is no group for this as we are so tiny. I like having the thread! :) I hope that is oaky! FEel free to add me as a friend though! :D

MRSJACKSON & LEIGH- How were yuor first days? OR wherever you are?!?!?

Can't wait for results! Have you all measured and weighed yourself? :D

Okay, gotta clean, do laundry and pick up from this weekend out of town! Have a great one and looking forward to tomorrow!

Hi everyone! I finished the first 10 days of Meta-hip this morning. Managed to lose 6 lbs in this phase also, so not too bad. I'm definitely losing inches, which is even more better. Start of level 2 tomorrow! :)

Hi Everyone, I finished workout 1 from phase 1 of jillian michael's body revolution. She worked the hell out of me, but I wasn't sore & burned 679 calories. It was a good workout, had me sweating like i was in hell, but I'm gonna try my best to stick with it the entire 90 days. I hope everyone had a good day & good workout.

Hi all~ Today is day 3 and I'm feeling fab! I just finished up my steel oats with craisins and I'm ready to get my workout on! I thought I would be sore today, but really I'm feeling great! LOL I can tell I've done some new hip rotations, and my hamstring butt connection from Jillian Michaels is most definitely there, but it's all good!

POETIC- Wow 6 pounds, that is fabulous! Did you follow the diet plan? How many calories are you eating? Just curious as I'm still trying to get the eating part down! :) I am eating healthy, but still, being a vegetarian and not wanting to do the 800 calories thing I'm kinda winging it! WOW, you give me such motivation! Thanks! I am excited to see where I am at day 10! :) You keep posting and I'll keep being motivated! I bet you are tired after day 10! LOL Her sequences are no joke! Just for fun before vacation i did one of her continuity sequences..... WOW_ that ishh burned! LOL Anyway, love that she keeps it changed up!!! Oooh, i'm so excited for our results!!! :D

MSJACKSON- oooohhhhh! I am for reallllllll... Sorry, when I look at your name, I hear Outkast! LOL

Anyway, good for you for getting day 1 done! I know it can be tough and you are sweating bullets, but you SO GOT THIS! ALl we can do in life is go one day at a time! Here's to today!

Phase 1 workout 2 done. I burn 652 calories. Boy, this sweat is really killing me, but I got through it. I usually drink a cup of soy slender after I workout, but I didn't get a chance to workout until 9:30 pm, so I just drink water. I try to get my workouts done before dinner. Hope everyone had a awesome day and workout. Jillian is kicking my butt, but it will so worth it in the end.

I so agree! I can tell that by day 4, already it's so much easier! I am doing the kick start one where you do the workout and cardio in the same day for the first week! So far so good! :D I am excited for the results, but also to be feeling better about myself, have higher energies and to be getting good sleep and waking up feeling refreshed! :) There are more benefits than just skinny! LOL

My workout shcedule got all messed up because right as I hit GO on my hrm I saw a huge cockroach on my kitchen floor! I panicked! LOL I called the cats down and one tried to bat at it and it went right under the fridge! I was too scared to move the fridge as I have had them fly towards my face before. My Heart rate acutally rose! LOL

Anyway, my husband said he'd help clean (even though it's pretty dang clean) and move everything and see what we find.

The good news is that this cockroach (i don't even like typing it) was the fairly large (2 inches- big for me) American cockroach and I am guessing it got lost in our house. Good thoughts please. I mean, we have lived here 3+ years and I ahve never seen one before. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- yeah. SIGH!

Tracy Anderson is up next! I took a break for some water and a snack since I started later! LOL Have a good workout! KEEP IT UP!

Hi All! Glad to find this thread as I have been looking for people who are doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution. I started last Tuesday July 10th. I started with the kickstart, doing the strength training in the mornings and cardio after work. I kinda messed up the schedule though and ended up not skipping a day of strength training in between so I did workouts 1 and 2 four days in a row. Because of that I just did cardio over the weekend. I decided instead of skipping to week 2 as she suggests I would start like it was my first day on Monday the 16th cuz the kickstart was pretty tough since I have been out of working out for a while. I only lost about 3 lbs after the kickstart but I did lose an entire inch off my waist, which feels so much better. I am sort of following the meal plan but not exactly. I am only eating recipes out of the books provided but not following the schedule since I'm not gonna cook a whole lunch and a dinner after work on weeknights. Since most of the recipes serve more than 1 person I have been making extra so I can reheat things and not have to cook as often. I also find that with the meals I'm choosing I'm having a hard time hitting 1200 calories so I have been adding an extra snack after dinner as sort of a desert. I really like the banana-almond smoothie.

mrsjackson: I can't believe you are burning over 600 calories a workout! That's awesome! What are you using to track your calories burned? I have been using my bodybugg that I dusted off after not having used it in year. It tells me I am burning about 250 for each workout. A little less for strength training and a little more for cardio.

So starting out I am (eek I don't want to write it out but if I put it there maybe it will help me stick with it) 5'7" 198.8 lbs!
After the kickstart: 195.something(don't remember, was kind of disappointed)

Anyway, I hope this will be an active thread cuz like I said I have been looking for other people do sort of do this with.
Good luck to all! I gotta figure out how to get a ticker-thingie.

WELCOME TUBWAY! :drinker: I am hoping this is active too, but even if it's just us few, it's good! :) I will be on here every day writing my experiences and sharing my thoughts! Even cockroach blunders! LOL :noway: Good job on your loss, 3 pounds is 3 pounds! I'd be happy with that! I burn anywhere from 200-276 when doing her 30 minute workouts which makes sense because I burn about 425-500 in 45-60 minutes. Sooooo, just keep pushing forward! I am hoping to lose inches, and of course weight! I am hoping to lose 5ish pounds by the end of this month.

Meal plans. I am not sticking to anything. Again, as i've said before, being a vegetarian is harder with the meal plans they give you, so just trying to eat as whole and healthy as possible. I did have a small piece of marble cake last night... LOL It was good and then after I ate it, it wasn't worth it! Oh well, I had the calories! LOL

MEASUREMENTS / TRACKING: for tracy anderson she says to weigh every day, no way. I will weigh once a week maybe, but even that is too much. I do measurements at the end of every month! :) What about you? What are you doing? :D

Oh man do I know about cockroaches! Hate 'em! We moved into a new apartment in October of last year and before we were even completely moved in I started seeing them. I was like--man what did we move into! The building doesn't look dirty or anything but I guess it's just hard to control with so many people sharing common space. Luckily ours are very small (maybe half an inch long) so they weren't too gross. We have blocked all the drains with those little screens and set baits and haven't seen any in months! (fingers crossed) In college we had huge ones that would crawl out of the drain while I was washing my face. YUCK! Anyway, enough about cockroaches...
As far as weighing in and measurements I am going to try to do it every week. I did it Tuesday this week but I think I might switch and do it every Sunday. I'm hoping if I do it that often I will notice progress and it will keep me on track. Although maybe if I'm not noticing enough progress and get discouraged I might cut it back to every two weeks or something. I used to be a vegetarian before I started doing this but I decided to see what kind of results this would give me if I stuck with her recipes. For me the major problem isn't sweets, it's drinking too much alcohol! Too many calories. Plus I think I was a little carb heavy when I was vegetarian. I ate a lot of wraps and bread, etc. I did eat a lot of beans too, which are super good for you but not that low cal. I may go back to being vegetarian after I complete BR, I haven't decided yet. I can't believe Tracy Anderson says to weigh in everyday. That's crazy!! Especially for a woman with the way your weight can fluctuate based on your cycle. Anyway, this is getting long. Thanks again for starting this thread. Maybe we will get enough people to start a group one day!

Cockroaches are gross! I get they are kind of a way of life down here being in the desert, I just think they are gross. I have been around a lot of them when I worked in the mall because the store above us, well not store, but the space above us was a restaurant! There was grease and all sorts of nasty stuff coming from up there. There were even a few places that had leaks so go figure- cockroaches! Of course we would have to bring the trash out at night and you would see them scurry everywhere! SO GROSS!

Anyway, I am feeling like this one just got lost (fingers crossed) and hey, it got my husband to pitch in with cleaning! I love to clean and it's typically pretty spotless, but if he's willing to clean/sanitize all of the cupboards, move all the furniture away and clean behind the appliances- IT WAS GOOD LOL

Meal plans.... The thought of going back to meat for me well, i can't even do it at this point. i don't even remember the last time I had meat. I do remember that at an Oscars party a few years ago, a lady said she made a 7 layer bean dip with no meat for me and my three other Veggie friends and foolishly, we ate it. Well- we were all sick from eating the refried beans. I asked her if they were vegetarian, and she said yes. So i asked if they SAID it on the can and she said no. So sure enough, there was lard in them. Anyway, it just doesn't work for me anymore, but hey, to each their own.

I'm actually in the middle of transitioning to vegan. I have pretty much cut out dairy, however started with eggs again in the past month or so since my husband likes them and is using them while doing Insanity. Cheese is the hard one, but ehhhh- I'll get there!

Anyway, other than the cockroach, all is well! LOL Making a tofu veggie tikka marsala for dinner and putting it over quinoa! YUM!

    Have a good workout tomorrow! :D Can't believe it's day 5 already!!!!

Hi ladies, I just finished cardio 1 and burned 518 calories. My hrm must be off because it said that cardio 1 was only 26 minutes, but I also had to do 50 squats for this other group that I'm in on facebook, so I did them 10 at a time with dumbbells & walk in between which gave at total burn of 661 calories. I'm a day behind because I started on tueday instead of monday.

I think i burn more because I'm heavier. I'm right now 291.7 lbs reaching for my goal of 135. Tubway welcome!! I uses a the mio heart rate monitor which is okay, but I want one with the chest strap.

As far as meal plans, I try to eat healthy. I chose not to use jillian's meal plan because I did not agree with all of the foods you could not have, for instance flaxseeds. But one of her recipes calls for flaxseeds, so I decided to just eat healthy.

But other than that, I had a great workout and I'm in for the long haul. Woohoo!

Mrs Jackson! Way to go with your workouts and squats! :) I didn't really look over the meal plan that much because yes, she says not to eat things like strawberries and flaxseeds and even oatmeal? Right? I dunno, I just eat as many whole foods as possible and that includes all fruits, veggies and whole grains! :) Oh, by the way, i used to have a mio and LOVED IT! I just recently upgraded to the Polar and I gotta tell you, the Mio is great and is within about 20 calories give or take from my other workouts! SO- pretty accurate! keep it up! I got my polar hrm off of ebay for 50 bucks brand new and it's originally 90-100! Perhaps this will be a good half way goal for you! :) I mean reward. Not goal! LOL

    REWARDS/GOALS:

What are the rewards to yourself going to be to keep you going?

For me, I am thinking in small/short term and long/ultimate!

I think when I hit my goal weight of 125 pounds I am going to buy myself a Clarisonic Mia 2! I have been looking at them for awhile and well, it's a good investment for your skin! I just turned 30 and want to preserve how great my skin is!

    I am thinking that when I lose 10 pounds and hit 130 I will get a massage/facial...

I think the best thing to do is NOT reward yourself with food, but something that makes you look/feel great! :D

So maybe they will cahnge, but for now, that is a good motivation for me! :)

p.s. How many calories are you guys eating? Just curious! :D have a good night! SUPER EXCITED for my workout tomorrow! Day 5! HERE WE GO! :drinker:

I'm not doing Tracy Anderson or Jillian, but I'm following your thread because I'm curious about the results that can be had from either program. However, I wanted to comment on the cockroach thing because your story made me laugh.

I'm originally from Charleston, South Carolina and down there, we had 2-3 inch ones that could fly. We called them water bugs and with our house being a couple of blocks from an outcrop of the Ashley River, they would get inside frequently. I'm not afraid of them because they were just a common nuisance when I was growing up, but I agree that they are gross.

Hi mrsjackson, thanks for the welcome. And you are right, as far as the meal plans I don't get the whole "no flax seeds" but then there are flax seeds in some of the recipes. What's up with that?
Kimwins999, you are so right about cheese being the hardest thing to give up when going vegan. I swear I am addicted to it. I did manage to avoid it for over a year during my experiment with veganism though. And I totally understand about the lard thing in the beans!! I could even tell if I cooked my food in a pan that had been used to cook meat before. Somehow I got away from being vegan though...I think because I started a new job and co-workers were always wanting to go out to lunch. Oh well. Like I said maybe I'll go back to it after I finish this program.
So far I have been good about only eating recipes that are on her plan. I am eating about 1200 calories a day but as I said before I am having to add an extra snack to get to that number. Some people on other threads say this is too low of a caloric intake and that I also need to be eating back my exercise calories. I don't know who to believe anymore! For now I think I will stick with Jillian and see where it takes me.
Matiara, I learned about MFP from a blog that a woman in Canada wrote about her experience doing Jillian's Body Revolution. She already completed the 90 day program but you can read about her results as well as see pictures of some of the recipes at phatsoslim.blogspot.ca.
Kimwins999, I haven't actually thought about any rewards I will give myself when I reach certain goals. I think my goal for this 90 days is to lose 25 pounds. I will still have more to lose after that but I think that is a realistic and attainable goal. I think maybe I will buy some new clothes as a reward, as hopefully my current ones will be too big! I am going to Las Vegas in two weeks so that will be a reward in itself. If I could get to the 10 lb mark by then that would be awesome but I think it's probably too soon. Anyway, this is getting long now. BTW what is the Clarisonic Mia 2?

On to workout 2 again this afternoon.... Oh and does anybody else think the resistance band sucks?!

MATAIRA- no worries on the workouts! I am from MN and so we don't have them! LOL Yes, these suckers are 2-3 inches and have wings! I have had one fly in my friggn face before! GROSS! LOL We only had that one and my husband pulled out the fridge and he was clinging on to the back, so i feel pretty good that he just got in. I know they are harmless, other than the disease they carry, but yes- GROSS!

TUBWAY- Vegas!?!? Awesome, have fun! we just went for my 30th bday in June! I'm ready to go back! LOL Cheese! LOL i can do without it at home. But it's the cheese in Pizzas that I have a hard time getting over. Same with nachos, then again I shouldn't really be eating either of those anyway! LOL I will just ahve to get back in the habit of making my own healthy nachos and pizzas :)
The mia2 is a face cleansing brush device made by people at Sonicare! :) I hear really good things and think it would be a nice treat! :)

My workouts were great today! My husband wanted me to do Insantiy Pure Cardio, so I did that one as opposed to JMCardio 1. I still did her workout 2 and also TA muscular work. Oh my arms! LOL

On the resistance band note- LOL They suck at times! I can do the ones we did in workout 2, but oh man, I have some other moves that are killer with them! They are a nice addition! They will whip yur butt Tubway! :D

Well actually I find the resistance band provided to be too long....so I have to wrap it around my feet twice to feel any kind of resistance and by the time I get it all wrapped and situated, she has almost moved on from the exercises. That's kinda what I meant by it sucks. I think I might just get a different one with more resistance/shorter or something. I can see how you can do some difficult exercises with those things! One of my friends just got Insanity and I was thinking of asking her to trade after I finish Jillian. What do you think of it?

Hi Everyone, finished day 4 phase 1 workout 1 and I'm poot. I burned 609 calories, kinda cheated by not doing the floor exercises. Hey, I'm heavy and cannot hit that floor & get up as fast as jillian them does. Shoot, by the time I get up off the floor, they halfway through the next exercise...lol. But I had a good workout.

KimWin999 my calorie goal is 1420 at sedatery (i know i botch that word up) even though I workout. I try to eat all of the 1420 but do not always make it. I think this week I may have went way over my calorie goal twice.

Hi Monie, you okay. Keep doing your thing diva!!

Welcome MATAIRA! I'm hoping to have very good results with jillian michaels. I would love to lose 50 lbs at the end, but as long as I lose pounds, I'm okay.

Tubway-I just really started working out with the bands with jillian in workout 2. They okay for right now.

Keep up the great job ladies and have a lovely weekend.

Well, I played with the band some and figured out how to shorten it. Still not my favorite though. :-) Keep it up mrsjackson...just do what you can. I think I do the suicides half as fast as they do them but as long as I do them for the whole time I figure I'll catch up eventually. I was gonna do a weigh in and measurements yesterday but I got sidetracked with shopping and cooking for the week so I think I'll do it tonight. Wish me luck!

Tubway- Ooooh !I get what you mean now with the band! well, as I do in all workouts, just pause it for a brief second to get situated and then hit play again! :) Sometimes they don't giev you enough time! :D I actually wrap my feet differently and it's easier for me to do it the way Chalene Johnson from Turbo fire does. I dunno, guess my brain just goes that way! LOL

Well all- keep up the good work! sorry I haven't been on much today. i had a very sore throat this morning and was super tired so ate breakfast and then took a nap! LOL now doing laundry, picking up a bit and after I post this, SO going to do week 2 or Meta Rev! :D Feeling good thus far! :D Oh and no sore throat either!

    WOOOOO! :D K

Yeah I guess I should get some batteries for my remote so I can pause to get the band situated!
