I am down 120 lbs total with photos (again)

Wow, at first I lost weight so fast and didn't have to put so much effort into it. Now, I am really working and it is HARD as heck because losing this much weight IS hard. Also, I have a disability (FXTAS) which causes Parkinson's type symptoms (mild ones but still balance and coordination problems and tremors in my hands) and also causes me to have fibromyalgia (pain in my muscles) and severe exhaustion, etc. I am still determined to do this and I force myself to exercise even when all I want to do is go back to sleep and even tho my entire body is hurting so badly. I'm not going to be able to take off the rest of this weight without doing the work and I am GOING TO TAKE OFF THE REST OF THIS WEIGHT!

My endocrinologist in Scottsdale, AZ told me yesterday that people who have had the lap band usually only lose about 20% of their total body weight (not excess body weight) after surgery and with the RnY it is 40%. I have lost over 1/3 of my total body weight (Lap banded). Kinda hard to believe that I was so big and sometimes I have a hard time realizing how small I am really getting. I have ALWAYS struggled with my weight and was chubby as a toddler (Thanks Mom) and overweight-obese in elementary school and probably morbidly obese somewhere around Jr High School. I have yo-yoed up and down my entire life too. I realized that without a tool that I would never lose weight (to a normal weight) and KEEP IT OFF.

As soon as I had my lap band surgery, I realized what it was like to have a normal slender person's hunger. It's amazing! For the first time in my life, I don't feel constant, unrelending hunger. I read an article where Dr Oz said that one of his patients said that it was like they had operated on her brain and not her stomach and that is exactly how I feel. Thank God for medical science! I'm not saying that it was a miracle to get the weight off but it helps regulate the hunger centers of my body (you can read online and understand better, I'm not going into details here lol). Great that it worked for me!! Surgery date:9/20/2011!

Here are my latest photos 120 lbs lost!

that is awesome, band or no band, I hope you are proud for doing it, and I wish you all the best and I'm sure you will lose the rest, (you don't look fat at all now) not sure how much more you want to lose. Once again Congrats to you

I am large boned and between 5'7 1/2" and 5'8" (depends on who measures me) so my Doctors and all the charts say somewhere between 142-162. I will have to see how I feel when I get to 160, if I want to lose more. I'm 52 and not really trying for "Hollywood" skinny... just healthy!

Thanks everyone... it's hard work regardless of how you do it and regardless of how much you have to lose. I have met some people who have lost over 400 lbs and I have no idea how they did it... I guess the same way we all are pretty much:) Best of luck to you all also and thanks!
