I love the vinegary hot taste of Hot and Sour soup, but I cannot buy it from any of the Oriental restaurants because they use regular soy sauce and I am gluten free. A few days ago I was really hungry at 9:30 am and didn’t have too many calories set aside for snacks for the day. I had Hot and Sour soup on the brain so I tried to create a low calorie snack. I thought this was pretty delicious and ate the entire pot. The seasonings should be adjusted to what you like. I like it very vinegary and hot, so this could just be a starting point for your tastes. I had run out of sesame oil so I broke up a few of the sesame toasted seaweed snacks. It gave it a sesame-seaweed flavor which I liked. You could also toast a corn tortilla and cut into strips or eat like those little crispy noodles. I have listed the nutritional values.

Healthy Hot and Sour Soup

1 can Swanson 99% fat free beef broth (or could use chicken broth)
2 medium mushrooms sliced thinly
4 sheets Roasted Seawood Snacks (sesame) chopped or torn up
4 Tablespoons Vinegar (or to taste)
½ teaspoon white pepper (or to taste)
3 Tablespoons gluten free La Choy Light soy sauce (or to taste)
Dash of hot sauce (or to taste)

- Heat all ingredients and adjust seasonings to taste.
