Looking for Support & Motivation - Anyone w/BRCA?

Hello, I am sort of new to MFP, I just started this year and haven't really been active on here until more recently. I am looking for support and motivation and particulary maybe a crowd of people who have a history of cancer in their family. I am a carrier of a BRCA1 genetic mutation and my motivation lies on being at my best so that I can hopefully beat this off at the pass, as surgeries are probably on the near horizon and time is so not on my side. My mom has been battling ovarian cancer for the past 4 years (she is only 50 now) and my Grandma had Breast cancer at 32! I know that losing all of this estrogen packed fat will help me in the long run - so off it must go!

    Im with you. And I hope you mom is healing.

    My mother and my aunt are fighting cancer right now. My grandmother died at 29 from brca.
    I dont kwon if I have the gene or not, but I'm just going to take care of myself by frequent sonomammograms, eating healthy, and exercising.
