I need help uderstanding something. The amount of calories the fitnesspal says I can have for the day does that include the calories burned that I indicated I would do on my goals? When I add in the calories burned and it increases my calories I can have do I eat more to meet the new amout? Loving the program just want to make sure I'm using it to the fullest extent.

  • If you set in your goals that you are exercising and also logging your calories burned then don't eat back your exercise calories. They are already accounted for when you set those goals. However , if you want to log every exercise calorie then I would suggest setting your goals to sedentary. You would then be able to eat back those calories. Hope this helps.

If I understand your question, no, the exercise you say you will do in your goals isn't factored in anywhere, I'm not even sure why they ask that.

What I think the poster above me is talking about is your activity setting -- you should not factor exercise into your activity setting, just your daily, non-exercise activity.

You are meant to eat back calories burned through exercise, that's why MFP adds it to your daily calorie allowance. That's because you already have a certain calorie deficit set before you exercise, so you are supposed to eat more if you exercise in order to keep your deficit the same. Hope that makes sense.
