Best hiking/water shoes?

I've been trying to find a great all terrain shoe. I like to go hiking, biking, kayaking, river rock hopping, etc... I would love to find something that works best for all. I'm not sure if I should get Merrells, keens, Teva, salomon, or some other brand. What do you think is the best?

I love Keen. They are wider in the toe box which might not be great if you have a narrow foot. Wore mine in the yard today and hosed them off. Came out perfectly clean. I have bad knees. If I wear my Keens my knees don't hurt nearly as bad.0

I'm a Merrell's fan myself. I just wear the hiking shoe, my husband wears the boots as he needs more ankle support. I've had three pairs and the vibram sole lasts me ~2 yrs and I wear them for everything (except running). Next pair I'm going to go for Gore-tex lined.
I just bought my first Vibram five fingers which I'm hoping will be good for canoeing. Not sure how they'd work for biking but so far I like them for walking!0
