Dieting and Eating Disorders

So when I was young I had trouble with eating disordered behavior. I was never diagnosed with anorexia and was never underweight. My behavior was just extremely disordered. The only reason I stopped was because I got caught. Now that I've been in college for a few years without anyone to watch me it has crept up on me a couple of times. But in the years between I gained A LOT of weight. The stress of a rigorous academic program/work/necessary volunteering/campus leadership positions makes it really really hard to lose weight. I'm happy I found MFP yesterday and I'm excited to try to get at a healthy weight. I'm nervous though because I can already see disorded behavior happening. It's a very strange love/hate relationship. Has anyone else had to deal with this type of problem before? Or anything similar? Any words of encouragement/advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

I've had a similar problem. In high school I was anorexic and lost about 70lbs..but then I ended up moving and just being under a lot of stress I went from anorexic to a binge eater...and weight kept creeping back on..& I've just always carried the problem of being way under calories or way over calories...and it would be frustrating because I'd see people around me eating way more than me but all weighing a lot less. I think logging really helps because you see everything you put in...I would say just keep trying to eat healthy so you have more energy to exercise and try focusing on that more than anything to lose weight...it usually helps me

Neurosis With food is what led many of us here!

Try n focus on being healthy, eating for the right reasons and don't do it alone. Feel free to add me :)
