Friends with same type of situation?

Hi,

I am a bit shy for asking but I need some friends, I think it would help me a lot on MFP.
I have about 90 pounds to lose, give or take. I decided to focus mainly on exercice, for a change, because just trying to lose weight with food doesn't help in the long run.

I'm trying to eat reasonably, without too much restrictions, so that I can keep it up.

I tried mostly all types of diets that exists, apart from the pills, the surgery or the shakes. I even went on a protein fast 10 years ago (huge mistake, never do that)!

So there it is, I would like to have friends in a similar situation to help motivate me, and me her/him, in continuing my efforts even though I can get discouraged.

thanks!

Feel free to add me. Similar situation. I have been on MFP awhile off & on and have just decided that I need more friends to make it happen. I am also trying to exercise more (which shouldn't be hard to top my ZERO exercise before). I have about 50 pounds to lose but am only concentrating on 10 at a time. It doesn't seem so overwhelming to me that way. Let's do this!
Oh yeah, forgot to mention I have tried many many many diets & if I haven't tried them I have read about them!
  • I have lost 29 with about 50 or so to go. Feel free to add me.

When I first started, I was 332.4 pounds. I am now 228.4 and have 53.4 more to go to get to my goal. I am doing a combination of diet and exercise, but do not deprive myself of anything. I eat around 2000 calories per day and lose 1-2 pounds per week fairly consistantly. It takes determination and hard work, but is definitely possible. I am living in a way that I can continue for the rest of my life. Feel free to add me if you like. Good luck.

Hi Marie. I started out at 231 (or bigger- afraid to weigh myself). :blushing: I lost a few on my own by walking during my lunch hour and not sharing the cake and donuts that were brought into the office.

I started My Fitness Pal about March/April and have lost about 18 more pounds. I really believe that this program is working and will work indefinitely. You just have to be honest about logging your food. I like how the exercise is incorporated into how much you're eating. If I plan on a huge steak dinner (tonight), then I'll be very careful about breakfast and lunch and exercise a bit more to "buy" more calories.

I'm at 205 now and my "friends" on MFP are pulling for me to reach that magical 199. It's a lot of fun and helps to communicate with others who will understand what you're going through. :flowerforyou:

I wish you to get to that famous 199!! What a party it was for me when it happened... 10 years ago! (wow... that long already?)
For now I try to focus on 10 pounds at a time. :)

My long term goal is to lose 138.5 lbs. I began at 428.5 and as of my weigh in last week was 399.9 so down 28.6 pounds so far. Next official weigh in is late tomorrow afternoon. Best wishes in your journey.

Feel free to add me as a friend. I've got about 100 lbs to lose to get to my target weight. I was always heavy but it really snuck up on me, Too many years of finishing the kids meals so it wouldn't go to waste (instead it went to waist). I love MFP but I'm finding it hard to eat all the calories they recommend plus the calories I gain from exercise. I'll just keep plugging along as I see this as a life style change not a diet.
