Question For PCOSers

I was just wondering if there are any PCOS ladies out there who have restored ovulation normally through diet and exercise? I have been told that there is some success in doing so when you exercise and drop some weight. I want to do this. I don't want to take drugs to ovulate. It just freaks me out.

I have PCOS and I am more regular now that I've lost some weight. It took me nearly 5 years to conceive my second child. I lost a little weight (not much) back then and I started having cycles again. Before that I only had about 2 periods a year. I think having my second child rebalanced my hormones or something, but after that I had my third and fourth child very quickly. However, as my weight crept up, I noticed that my cycles were longer and longer in between. I've lost 40 lbs since last summer, and now my TOM comes every month. So, I do think weight affects the symptoms if PCOS and losing weight can help with ovulation. Hope that helps!0

I have PCOS. My husband and I tried to have a child for 10 years - we even went to a fertility specialist. Eventually the dr told me that I was just never going to have any more kids.
Well, I dropped about 20 lbs by eating healthier and walking. Right after I lost the weight, I had my daughter (who is now 6).....then had my son (who's 4)...without even trying.
I've read and been told that losing weight is very helpful for PCOS. It worked for me.
Right now I have hardly any TOM. My dr says that it's from my IUD. Plus, I'm 44...and menopause may be starting for me. I can tell you that my TOM becomes more regular when I am at a normal body weight.
Good luck!0 -
Normally after losing about 5kg would be enough to kickstart my period. This time it took 20kg. I just started my sixth period this year which is the most ever. They are longer (44 days currently) Don't have children so can't answer second part.0

20 Lbs down and normal now. First downside to weight loss
I used to only have it about every 4-5 months which was AWESOME! 0 -
My specialist said that losing just 5% of my body weight might be enough to get my cycle to be more regular. I've now lost 20% of my body weight and my cycle is still a little bit on the long side (35 days) but the most regular it's been in several years.
I am able to get pregnant fairly easily, but I still have trouble staying pregnant. I had my forth (and last) m/c last month, and we have officially decided to stop trying for children.0
