I think it’s funny how if you tell people you are eating 1200 calories a day, they react “O MAY GAWD UR GONNA STURVE AND DIE EAT WOMAN EAT” but if you eat 1300 calories a day they’re like “oh, man! Great! Healthy! WTG! Gonna be fit!!”
…… Seriously? That’s half a luna bar’s difference. What is that seriously going to do? That’s half a piece of white bread. Will that make a difference? What is this focus on numbers?
Just my random thought for the day.

I agree with this. I've seen loads of people criticising others for eating 1200 cals, but as a 5'2'' 121lbs female I find it hard to even get all of those because I'm just so full. And I dont starve myself either, I have three solid meals a day.0

I think some people are afraid of the "starvation mode" and want everyone to be healthy. I have decided to blow it off and if I eat all my body wants for the day and my numbers are under then so be it.0

People tend to get caught up in what worked for them and forget that just because it did work for them doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I know that at 1,200 calories for months on end I didn't lose a pound. Increased to 1,400, magically it started falling off.
And it all depends on your goals, too. I'm not lifting and looking to be ripped, so I set my goals around that.
People always think they are right. But only you know you.0 -
Usually the people here balking at 1200 are one of the below:
Men
People half my age
People not in weight loss mode
People doing extreme exercise or workouts designed to build
Or people twice my size
Or all five.0 -

Well of course they are - probably 80% of the people on the site fall into at least one of those categories.0 -
Yes, but we don't balk at their calorie levels. :laugh:0

I'm fine with women eating 1200 calories. Not a big deal. I usually struggle eating only that much unless I'm really smart with my food choices so I feel full and satisfied. It's when I see people below 1200 calories I worry. Especially when they do it day after day. That is so not healthy. :ohwell:0
