I have never had to take iron before. I hate it. And I hate missing it, LOL.
I now know of it's evil binding way on the lower digestional tract.

I have also noticed, I am often not hunngry. my stomach no longer says "Feed Me, Seymour!"
My stomacn now just says "meh". Is that an effect of the iron?

and if any iron takers have any advice, esp on the fiber intake, please share!

(I am 40, female, anemic from a surgery 2 months ago)

Not feeling hungry while taking iron could be because you are backed up. My doctor recommended taking milk of magnesia if necessary to help regulate my system. I'm currently taking iron supplements but have to stay away from fiber so I can't help in that regard.

yikes! Does it really mess up your GI function?

( I take fiber pills at each meal and have taken Miralax 3 times in 2 days to before I got a result this week... blah. It doesn't seem like it'd be good for me to do that, but I am hoping it is a short term surgery issue)

Have you noticed any bloating in your abdomen? The extra fiber might be enough to keep you regular without having to take anything else. Also, drink lots of water while taking the iron.
