Who cook their own meals too ??
Hi,
I'm having trouble with the list of meals to choose from when I submit my intakes, I cook all my meals 100% of them and when I look to put them on the list of meals they seem mostly alrady cook meals from supermarkets popular brands, so I end up putting themunder what's closest
For exemple: I wrap chicken breast ( no skin no oil ) with fresh veggies spices and put it the oven ( it's no bourgignon beef but delicious honnestly ) under which ''categorie'' shall I put it ?
If you too guys like me cook your own meals PLEASE tell me what you do

Hi!
I cook all of my food from scratch. It's a little time consuming, but the best way to do this is go to the "food" tab, then click on "recipes" and then on "create a recipe". This allows you to input all your indredients, gives you the cals, etc and then lets you save it in your recipe box. To add it to a meal hover over the title of the recipe and then click on "add to diary". I love this feature. I have all my go to suppers there.0 -
I just put however much of each individual ingredients in to the tracker, so weigh the chicken, say, and add that, weigh the veg and put that in etc. It can be laborious, but once you have ingredients in your tracker they're easier to find0

Also, if you eat the same thing often, you can create your own recipe with it on MFP and save it, then just add it whenever you eat it without having to put all those individual ingredients in over and over.0 -

I also suggest the recipe tab. Begin exact is important and i use it all the time. I also plan my day a day in advance so i can take the time to do it before hand so i can focus on making my food instead of inputting it0 -
Go to recipes
Add your ingrediants
Then let MFP calculate calories. Whenn you eat that meal again click on recipes and on the right hand side is a hidden button that pops up and asks if you want to add your food to your food journal.

I cook my own meals. But sometimes I will pick a restaurants item Bc I don't want to input every item on my recipe. Too time consuming and I am lazy! I figure my version probably has less calories than restaurant version but I would rather overestimate tm0

I always cook my meals in advance too, it avoids me to ''jump'' on anything else when I'm hungry:explode: ahaha0

If it's a recipe with several ingredients I enter them into the Recipe section. If it's something like a tuna steak with a side of sateed kale, I enter them separately. I just guesstimate the amount of oil from what was in the pan or on the steak when I began and what portion I ate.0
