I am starting the c25k tomorrow. I really haven't ran before but I love to walk. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can totally do this! I also just started, I'm on week 2. Someone suggested to me downloading podcasts to run to, and this has really helped me. Check it on: http://www.c25k.com/ there are iphone apps and everything.

    My suggestion is this:

Know that it will be challenging, but do-able. Push yourself! You CAN do this and you will learn to love it. By about the 3rd week I was absolutely addicted to running and haven't looked back since. If you must repeat a week, do it- don't be ashamed. Just keep going, and you'll be SO proud of yourself! :flowerforyou:

@bryannkay - It is the Couch to 5K running plan from coolrunning.com:

@here_to_lose - Do you have the Ullrey podcasts? http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/ They really help keep you on track. I've just finished week 1. While not totally in love with the background music, it works pretty well for pace. :-)

I started last week and just finished up week 1 day 3 yesterday. I wouldn't say I hate running but I am scared of it that I wont be able to keep up but actually week one was not bad at all. I stuck to it and happy I did. Now looking forward to week 2. You can totally do it!

I would suggest getting fitted for running shoes at a running store. Good shoes will make or break your running. The store I go to has the video analysis while you run on a tread mill. Then they will bring out as many pairs or shoes for you to try on and walking /running around in. I might be able to get them cheaper online but I am willing to pay for the service they provide.

Thank you all!! I printed off the directions/weekly schedule so I am going to start next week. And to the person about the running shoes....I COMPLETELY agree!! I actually work at Scheels in the shoes department so, I sell running shoes :) So, I know exactly what you are talking about with good running shoes!!!! I am all over that!!!
