I LOOOOOOOVE it!! The first couple of times I went I was dreading going and even hated the class, but loved how I felt afterwards... but now I am absolutely addicted to it, really look forward to going to class. It's relaxes me. I notice the more I go, the less grumpy I am for the next day or two to follow. When I start feeling grumpy and quick to anger, I go again and feel 100x better!

AGreed. My first time I went to a 105 degree room. I got in 5 minutes early, per the instructors advice to get me acclimated to the high temps. I wanted to die, I hated it! But I went back again and again. Than my trial membership ran out and plus it became summer so I just did the yoga outside. It was hot. It wasn't a 105 degree room, but it was in the 90's and humid. I go to another class now, it's vinyasa flow. Much faster, more intense and they keep the room hot, probably about 90 degrees? But it gets hotter once we get going. I swear I sweat more than the bikram class. Every pore is open and I am dripping wet. Again, more than bikram. Bikram is slow but hotter, this one more fast . But yes, love the way I feel, heck, I am loving just talking about it right now.0

I love how I feel after it. And it does seem to help prevent irritability for me.0

Oh, I have to get to my class 15-20 minutes bc it gets so crowded. I love just laying on my mat, relaxing, and listening to the music before starting. Then the class is so crowded that the 95 degree room soon jumps up to 105-115. Then my mat becomes a slip-n-slide. LOVE IT!!0

How do you all do that? I can't imagine.
I have played tennis in hot weather and found it strenuous.
There's also a max limit on the temperature for outdoor bootcamp classes for me. That max temp is nowhere near 100.0 -
The hot room gets addictive. I always get there early so I can relax and have caught myself falling asleep a couple times. I don't take a traditional hot yoga though. I take a boot camp type pilates class in a heated room, about 95 to 99%
Bekah, you can sometimes find the non slip towels at Marshalls or TJ Maxx for about $15. Really makes a difference.0 -
Totally want to take one of these classes, but I can't find any in my area :grumble:0

yes..I loved hot yoga as well. Suprisingly..even though I hate hot weather...after my first hot yoga workout I felt refreshed, energized yet so relaxed. My muscles were able to perform better as well. It's great for those prone to injury as the heat reduces the stress on muscles.
I must try to locate the nearest hot yoga location near me now since it's been awhile...0 -
totally intrigued by this...perhaps someone with some more knowledge about it can help me.
i have horrible knees and can't lay on my stomach or kneel. seems like any regular yoga i do requires being able to do those things. other people tell me to just relax when those poses come, but i think i'll feel like a jerk just sitting there with everyone staring at the guy not doing anything.

I know in the classes I take there is no judgment and the instructors will usually ask who is new and if they have any limitations and give alternative poses. I would say try a class and get there early to voice your concerns to the instructors. There are so many Groupon and Living Social deals, etc., at least in my area, that really give you a chance to check a place out before you commit.0
