On average, how many calories can a female be expected to burn during a P90X workout, specifically the following workouts?:
Legs/Arms
PlyoX
CardioX
For stats purposes, I am 28, 5'6.5", 180lbs...

It is really hard to say. As your fitness level increases, so does the amount of effort you can put into the movements. I have seen it listed anywhere from 600-1000 for plyo, 400-600 for cardio and strength workouts. Again, if you are able to "bring it" for the full video on plyo you will see a higher number (so be sure to double-time on your Mary Katherine lunges!)0

I agree with her I do it and I just go by 600 calories a workout. If you can last the whole time during plyo x. You are awesome because that is not easy task thats for sure. Great Job.0

I bought a Polar heart rate monitor so I would know how much I was burning. Here is what my calorie burn is. I'm a little smaller than you, so yours might be a bit more. I'm 5'5" and 150lbs.
Plyo - 550
Cardio X - 300 (I don't do this one anymore and sub Plyo now - I want the most calorie burn for my time)
Kenpo 410
Legs & Back w/Ab Ripper X - 550 (this is w/ pull ups; its about 100 cals less w/bands)
Shoulders & Arms - 220
Core - 430
Yoga - 400 (full 90 minutes) 300 for the first 45 mins
I previously went with what others told me of an 'average' of 600 calories a workout, but as you can see, several of mine are substantially less. I feel like I'm working out hard with each one and do all the reps.
Hope this helps!0 -

This is helpful for me too, we're almost exactly the same size (you're a shade taller). I knew 600 was too high for me to put for any of them but I didn't really know what to use either. I was using "high impact aerobics".0 -
thanks for info, I'm similar in weight and height as you-0
