OK so, How do you know if your tired because of all the weight you've gained or if you've gained all this weight because your so tired all the time!

You're tired because you eat bad and because you gained too much weight, which makes you even more tired, it's called metabolism.0

Not really true--being inadequately rested affects the hormones that regulate appetite and fat storage. Get enough rest and eat right and you should be on the right track either way.0 -
I get tired when my joints hurt, and at certain times of the month. But most of my weight gain happens when I can't sleep. There's nothing like three days without sleep to make you tired, and the more i am up, the more i eat. I eat because I hope it will help me sleep and I eat because I don't care because I feel lousy because I am tired. Not saying that you are necessarily like me but I totally get it that weight is tied to feeling tired and how you sleep.0

This is easier said than done, even when the cause is medical, and you just need to figure it out. I have had severe fatigue day in and day out since I was 20. Doctors (speaking in general here) look for easy answers, and don't want to look anymore when the answers aren't easy. They would tell me to lose weight when I wasn't overweight by the charts, and have a very large frame. They would tell me to just get some exercise when I was doing 8 hours of karate a week.
I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and a sleep disorder, but I had a hell of a time getting them diagnosed. The first sleep specialist I was sent to laughed in my face, and refused to perform a sleep study on me because I was in my 20s, and no more than 5 pounds overweight (at that time). My fatigue has worsened over the years, but I haven't been able to work since my late 20s. It was devastating. When I tried to give doctors an accurate picture of what it was like to live in this body, they would tell me it was just depression (though I was not unhappy apart from being exhausted with no relief in sight). I always knew they were wrong, but proving that can be an uphill battle to say the least.
I wasn't significantly overweight until the last few years, so the cause and effect is pretty clear cut in my case. I'm working on losing weight now, but it'll be a slower process for me.0 -

This is not correct for everyone. People who experience severe fatigue crave the foods that are supposed to provide the body with energy. And even though I craved those foods, I was consuming much less than my actual TDEE (which I only recently discovered). In trying to "eat right," I slowed my metabolism.
There are certainly other causes for weight gain. But weight gain is also a side effect of sleep disorders.0
