I wasn't sure which forum to put this under.
Anyway, my blender just gave up the ghost. I definitely need one for Christmas Eve.
For those of you who have a blender and use it frequently, what are some of the features that you especially like? My old blender was ONLY 31 years old. It was just getting broken in.....lol
Do you have any suggestions as to manufacturers?
My old blender was an Osterizer. One of the things that I like about it was the fact that it had a large container but I could also use these smaller containers (8oz each) in it for a smoothie or whatever.

I have a cuisinart - I think I went through 6 blenders before this one. I make my own breakfast smoothies with fresh and frozen fruits, ice yogurt, so most other blenders motors were just not strong enough and burn out. The other fact was ease of replacing the carafe. Between my husband and myself, we just manage to break the carafe all the time.
Oh, this cuisinart has a juice spout, so instead of having to lift the heavy glass carafe off the spinner, you use the spout to pour out the contents. nice, small pleasures, seriously!0 -
You can't go wrong with a blendtec!
Check youtube for "will it blend"

As long as it has a "pulse" option, that's pretty much all I use.0

I agree with the blendtec. I have one and it's amazing. I use it all the time for smoothies, homemade salsa, homemade peanut butter, etc. However, they are on the expensive side.0

I allowed my wife to get us a Vita-Mix Blender as an anniversary gift and we have been eating better since. The thing can make and heat a soup all at once, all you need to do is through in the ingredence and let if go for a few minutes. its not cheap though. It does come with a recipe book of many things you can do with it.0
