    hmmm, interesting.

In regards to #2 and #4, I agree if you are going to eat processed foods. I'd go one step further and say eat plant-based, whole foods. Then you don't have to worry about eating regular or whole fat anything and you don't have to worry about sweeteners either.

I'm surprised he didn't say watch the sodium intake. Salt is also an issue for most of us, we get way too much as a rule.

Soda is an issue in regards to sugar/artificial sweeteners AND sodium. All that flavor has to come from somewhere, right?

He really meant to say buy a cleanse and then laughs all the way to the bank with the money makes promoting useless products.

Not too bad of tips but I don't agree with #4, #5 and the last one.

Artifical sweeteners don't affect weight loss as long as you have no medical issues causes bloating, or the like. Pop isn't the worst thing in the world. If it's regular pop than as long as it fits in your calorie goals you will be fine. Diet pop has never caused problems for me and there are tons of people here who have lost weight while drinking regular and diet pops. There isn't a lot of sodium in pop... less than 100mg for most cans/single serving bottles.

And to do a cleanse, there is no need to do one unless you need to do one for a medical reason. Your body cleanses itself wonderfully!

I'll be honest, I'm jealous of Dr OZ
I wish I lacked the same morals he does, so I could sell stupid crap to stupid people.

The most amazing thing, considering that it came from Dr. Oz, is that three of the ten actually make sense (#1, #6 and #8).

Most of these are not actively harmful, so that's pretty good for him.

I believe he was on Oprah before he got his own show. His show USED to be really good. He focused on exercise and healthy eating but he's turned into a pill pusher with a new pill each week that he gets paid to tell people to take even if it doesn't work. I don't even watch him anymore - I used to when he had helpful information.

@drmerc LOL!!! My boyfriend HATES him. He was in the audience for his 100th episode on extreme weight loss and was so pissed he didn't get as much as a f'ing tee-shirt. Actually, I take that back. He DID get a parting gift - a workout DVD by Richard Simmons. He gave it to my mom as a gag gift one x-mas.

    ...should have gone to Oprah.

so glad to see I'm not the only one that loathes Dr Oz....not a month goes by that I don't have a relative telling me something that was said on his show that could KILL me....apple juice for example......for real? :noway:

Didn't Dr Oz used to be more varied in his topics? I thought he talked about more than just weight loss when he first got his own show. Now he seems to be focused solely on weight loss and what new magic potion is on the market. It's pretty disapointing.

    1) makes sense
    2) depends but generally I agree, not because of the sugar, but fat is not bad for you in general
    3) makes no sense out of context
    4) not necessary unless you have a sensitivity to it
    5) not a bad idea
    6) good idea
    7) why?
    8) not a bad idea
    9) why?
    10) no, no, no, no, no.
