Black Women with Natural Hair???

:happy: Hi Ladies!

Approximatley 2 years ago, I did my first round of Insanity, however, then I was wearing partial weaves/wigs and braids and my hair was processed. Now fast forward I have been doing Insanity again, and I forgot how much it makes you absolutely sweat like a pig!! Now that my hair is natural it is now a 2 hour job of rinsing twisting and curling. My hair texture is fine (if that helps), I was hoping there was someone/anyone out there that could give me some helpful tips on how to keep my main looking/smelling good while achieving my goal!!

Thanks;
Kiki

    I'm doing Insanity also! I wear my hair in two strand twist updos. I unpin every 3-4 days and do a quick rinse with water and a final rinse with apple cider vinegar for the final rinse.

    I do a full wash and retwist once a week.

    I'm sorry to interrupt this post but shouldn't a weave using human hair be considered natural hair? #thingsthatmakeyougohmmm

    I am not doing insanity at the time; however, I sweat ALOT in my HIIT class. I recently bought curlformers and they have been working pretty good on my hair. It is fine, 4a, and right above my shoulder. I just wear a head band around the front while working out and will pin to the side or something when finished. I still co-wash every other day because sweat build can get bad!

    It cleanses the scalp and closes the hair cuticle.

    Well, I'm not black, but I have natural, thick curls-- inherited from my Domican mom. I'll usually just "co-wash" after working up a sweat-- meaning a wash with a cheap conditioner instead of shampoo. I'll only use a (sulfate-free) shampoo once a week, before deep conditioning.

    Other ladies I've known swear by dry shampoo. But baby powder will give you a similar result for a lot lower of a cost. It might also help you to just let your hair down right after the workout to let it air out.

    Yeah most that I work out with just wear braids....I personally just wear my puff so that I dont have to do all the rinse and re twisting....you can do bigger twists that dont take as long to do....and my hair never smells or feels dirty and I dont rinse it everytime....just plait or twists and you can maybe rinse every other time or so....

    I know you dont want to feel like your life is just working out and twisting hair lol I feel your pain...

    I haven't done the Insanity workout but I sweat BAAADDDDDD just vacuuming let alone the bootcamps and running I do all week. I co-wash and twist my hair about 2 times a week and usually wear a puff whenever my twist out has went flat from all my workouts. Good luck to you cause it is such a feat working out and trying to maintain a cute natural style.
