Hello, my name is Bethany, and I'm a Junk-a-holic. :)
About a year ago, I had lost 35 pounds, but I started to get off track, then just went ballistic.
I gained all my weight back, if not 2 more pounds...
I'm on this again.. Day 4 today. and I know i can do it! But I need motivation.. A true friend I can confide in.. I work at Taco Bell, which is my weakness of course, and I'm a manager, so I have the urge to get free food since I can... but I need to stop myself.. and only allow ONE thing if I have the room for it at the end of the night.. My schedule is all crazy, never know what my hours will be...
Well, I've babbled enough... If you want, add me :)

It must be hard to stay on track working there. Resist it completely!!!
  • You can do it! :)

My problem is.. at my old store, they had a microwave accross the street I would use at 7-11.. when I got transferred here, a year ago.. I have no way to heat anything, and sometimes you just need to eat something warm... I've convinced myself.. that hey, just have a dorito taco supreme, it's only 200 calories, but then, I want something more... I mean, if I could stick with only the taco, for even a snack before I leave, things would be all fine and dandy... like I did okay yesterday, and still had TB... but thats because I didn't eat much before work.

I'm in a similar boat as you! I lost almost 40 pounds years ago when I was young because I had always been chubby growing up and a family member always liked to point it out. I've gained back all that weight over the years plus some and it sucks but all that matters is that you're trying again! I blame taco bell a little bit for my weight gain as it was my food of choice in college after a night of drinking thousands of calories. Stay strong!

I have adapted my eating to allow taco bell once or twice a week. Only 2 taco supreme and maybe a raspberry tea. Since my plan is based on high protein and low carb, it actually encourages more weight loss.

That sounds really difficult! I worked for burger king a few years back, and always felt compelled to "get my money's worth" out of my one free meal. I definitely gained weight!

You're certainly not alone though! A lot of people have to deal with unhealthy free (or just convenient) food at their workplace. My boss brings in cake every week! Packing meals and snacks to bring along is really important. You might look around to see what kinds of health-ified custom meals people on here order at taco bell. One of my friends often orders the chicken taco salad without the shell, dressing, and tortilla strips... but you can probably think up something even better!

Although, I have to admit I was proud of myself today! We had a meeting at work, and since we are closing for remodel, and I'm moving to another store... my boss offered to buy us Denny's (right accross the street) They tried to convince me to get a grand slam... and I was good and stuck to 4 pieces of turkey bacon, and one egg.. :)

I'm proud of you, too! We are in this together and WE CAN DO IT! I think the hardest part for me is that we are pinching pennies and the unhealthiest food is the cheapest. (Of course it tastes good, too.)
