Best Running Shoes?!?!?!?!?!

I currently have the Asics Gel Kayano 16. I am in love with them, however they NO LONGER sell them in my size I'm looking into the updated versions 17 & 18. I love that they are light weight and great for my high arches. They feel like a sock in a way. Any other suggestions on good running shoes? Also does anyone own Gel 17 or 18 (Likes and Dislikes)?

I wear Asics Nimbus 13... I find it just perfect lol
But all of the Asics running shoes are great... I wouldn'd trade my Asics for any other shoes.0 -
What size? Amazon has some.

Other places too. Use the Google. Seek and ye shall find.0 -
You should probably go to a specialized running store. I think it's one of the smartest things I've done. Everybody's going to have a different opinion as to the best shoe (personally I'm a Newton fan) but a good running store will probably be the closest you'll get to an objective opinion.0

i have the gt2170, love them, but i have flat feet, i went to the asics website the other day and you can put in what kind of foot you have and they will match the shoe. good luck!!0

There is no "best shoe" there is only "best shoe for you". I wear Brooks Adrenaline GTS. Next time I get shoes (this is like my 6th pair of Brooks) I'll probably get refitted to make sure that's still the shoe I need.0

i have a pair of asics gel duomax. they are OK. i bought them because at the time i was still doing a lot of walking during my runs and i needed the support. i dont really need the support when i run because I land on my forefoot
my next pair of running shoes will be brooks pureconnect. it's a nice mix of minimalist style i need for my runs and the cushioning i need for when i walk. once i can completely run my loop without stopping i'll switch to a completely minimalist/barefoot style0 -
I wear Nike Free Runs.0

I have very high arches and run in Saucony Kinvara (classified as minimalist, but they really aren't) or Merrell PaceGloves (actually minimalist). I love them both.0

I'm an 8.5. I can't find them in my size.....in gel 16.What size? Amazon has some.

Newton's are awesome but expensive...High end, high tech...used frequently by tri-athletes.0

new balance minimus works great for me but my next pair will probably be a nike so i can have a cushy run when im in the mood.0

I've been fitted. The shoe that I have is what was suggested. I just want to know what everyone likes . Maybe it will give me others to choose from that I wouldn't have thought about before. You should probably go to a specialized running store. I think it's one of the smartest things I've done. Vibrams.
That is all.
(I'd marry mine if I could)0 -

I have New Balance that I love, but you definitely should consider being refitted.0 -
Vibrams! This country boy luvs'em.0

I have flat and wide feet, I wear Brooks Beast. But if you can't find anything in your size in the shoe you like, I echo what some others have said and look online or get refitted at a running shoe store0

Find a Shoe clinic, they assess the different places of pressure your feet have when walking and running, then they tailor a shoe sole just for you!0

Even though you've been fitted, I'd still go back and get re-fitted. How long ago was it (sorry if you've already answered this).
Having said that, I have Asics though I'm not sure which model. And I'm due for a new pair; I've managed to make these last a year but really starting to feel those jogs. I love them though.0 -
Like stated above- there is no "best shoe" just the best shoe for YOUR foot/body.
I'd go to a running store if I were you; get fitted.
They'll look at your running gate and your foot and such and be able to help you find something that will actually aid and help your specific run and support you where you need it.
I've had all sorts over the years.
I currently use Brooks Defyance and LOVE them like no other
but there are many good running shoes .
Good luck!0 -

Agreed!! I Love my Komodosport LS hard to go back to regular shoes afterwards...0 -
best running shoes = no shoes at all, barefoot !! or maybe minimalist running shoes such as vibram fivefingers
<<<did i hear vibrams?? spyridon ls here0 -
I have a pair of Altra Instincts that I really like. They have a nice wide toe box and no heel drop. They've really helped with my calf and knee soreness after running since now I can absorb impact with the tendons and arch of my feet instead of everything with my knees and calves.0

Nike Free Run 2.0!! lightweight and comfy0

Another vote for NIke Free Run.
I bought these on a whim and have been using them for my couch to 5K program.. and they are absolutely wonderful.
Tried running in Nike Shoxx and those things are awful for running!0 -
I wear Vibrums ALWAYS! Even have pretty ones for work. I don't know that I could ever go back to wearing any other kind of shoe, ever. I don;t "run" a whole lot, but I am working on it though and they haven't let me down yet.0
