Hey!
I'm Anna and I'm new, I'm having a lot of trouble with eatting on the go... what I mean by that is being busy and picking up something at mcd's! I don't eat much, because I had gastric bypass surgery, but I have found that even a burger at mcdonalds adds a whole lot of unnessary calories that I could use elsewhere. Any ideas how to improve?

On the days I work 2 jobs, I honestly tote a cooler... For instance yesterday, I packed 2 salads, 2 cups grapes, 2 cups strawberries, and some veggie chips n dip... in my cooler.... Its so much safer for me, because if I go to Mcdonalds... its gonna be a double cheeseburger combo...supersized with a lg mocha frappe... and I don't trust me yet. :)

This is where food prep would come in very handy. I have a friend who does this and swears to it. I'm seriously thinking about it. Preparing meals for a week, fully cooked, and packing them to go with me. Why buy fast food when you can easily have your meal? If you know you aren't going to be around something to heat up your meal, pack something that doesn't need warmed. Also good healthy smoothies are good for things like this. If you can handle a fulfilling drink instead of an actual meal. I have stuff to make good smoothies when I know I can't eat a meal. Like, I work for Applebee's and I am a server mainly a night time server, we don't get breaks so I go without eating dinner, so I bring a smoothie so I can be sure to get that in me. It's better then nothing at all.

I bought a big bag of almonds and stick about 20 of them in a container (130 cal) for snacks on the go. I am a teacher, and days I work I pack my lunch and snacks the night before. I pack after I eat dinner, so I'm not hungry. I try and pack extra healthy snacks (grapes, apples, laughing cow cheese, string cheese, etc) so if I do get hungry or end up working late, I always have healthy choices available.
  • Mcdonalds almost always makes me feel sick or gross afterwards besides the mcchicken sandwich, An easier way is go shopping buy some fruit, spinach, chicken, or whatever and prepare your food the night before or for the whole week and just put it in one of those plastic containers! that way, you always have healthy food ready to go with you and you're not tempted to waste your money on bad foods anyways.

Packing your food or preparing it ahead of time saves a lot of time and money.

Easy fast food grabs are chili from Wendy's or chicken noodle soup from Subway.
    Good luck!

What about picking a day during the week and cook a weeks worth of meals? just freeze them until the night before and defrost them. Then all you got to do is heat them up. That's what I do. Hope you find something that works

*** just realized a bunch of people already mentioned this haha. Whoops. Sorry. Goodluck!
