Need more protein

Hello all,

I've just recently joined up on this site. I've been successful in reaching my daily calorie goals. But what I have noticed from logging all my food is my protein intake is often just half of what is being recommended. I'd be glad for tips on easy ways to add more protein to my diet.

Thanks

I have noticed quite a lot of people on here have protein drinks to increase their protein intake or have peanut butter. For me I think there is too much fat in peanut butter to class it as a 'protein rich' food

Eggs are your friends, omelettes, poached, boiled, scrambled

Bacon, sausages. Obviously without the fat on the bacon.

Cold packet meats, like turkey, low fat ham etc. I have smoked salmon which is packed with protein.
  • Egg whites, lean meats, or as I do, low carb protein shake in the morning! Only 90cals and boosts my levels! :)

Agree with EGGS! In a pinch, there are some good protein bars out there, too. Just watch the sugar levels/calories in them - some are more like candy bars. I recently started adding just one scoop of protein powder to skim milk, then putting it in my coffee for a latte-type beverage. Oh, ad another one is Kashi Go-Lean Crunch cereal.

I'm the other way! I keep going over.

I seem to eat a lot of salmon, chicken, eggs and soy beans. Edamame beans are a lovely snack, and a good source of protein.
