I absolutely hate cutting my calories.
I love food, as most of the people in this group most likely do. But food is my friend... I eat it when I'm bored and when I'm hungry. And when I think about not eating, I want to eat more. Because it makes me miss my friend. As of lately, I've been eating a pretty clean, vegetarian diet. I've been getting about 2400-2200…

A little help!! please
Can someone tell me if the below calcs are right because as I am looking at it at the moment the figures sound terribly low & would mean I am netting under BMR regularly. Should I just stick with my current method of netting 1500 & recording exercise to eat it back? Female - Age 33 - CW 146 - Height 65" - 135 GW Bodyfat…

Today is a new day...
Today is the day that I am starting to really embrace the EM2WL lifestyle. I know that it won't happen all at once, and slowly I will be able to increase my cals to get to my TDEE -15% for fat loss. Which is right around the 2000 mark (on the Scooby calc TDEE was 2352 and with the lose fat 15% deficit it is 1999). My eyes…

Trying to decide what to do after reset
Hi everyone, I'm not super far into my reset but this group isn't terribly active either, so I thought I'd ask early. I'm not doing strength during my reset (I know). I would love to, but I'm really stressed out about finals and I've never done any lifting before, and I didn't think this was a great time to try to learn…

My 2 cents
Hi All, I wasn't sure where to put this, so I started a new topic. I just want to say that I started reading these threads a while back and I loved the concept, but couldn't fathom eating 2000 cals/day. (I am 5'2). This past week something finally clicked and I am embracing this way of life. A little background... I've had…

8 week reset - done!
As some of you may know, I was having zero results eating the standard “1200″ calorie diet + exercise… for a long time. I decided to do a full metabolism reset by lifting heavy weights 3x a week and eating at my TDEE (2120) for 8 weeks. Results: (drumroll) Starting Weight: 167.2 10/15/12 Chest: 40 Waist: 31 Hips: 40 Upper…

Eating on a budget
I REALLY need help with eating on a budget. I am a graduate student with limited income. I live by myself so it's hard to grocery shop. I HATE buying good food and not finishing it before it goes bad. I workout 5-6 days per week with 2 one hour strength training sessions so right now my diet is 35% protein 35% fat 30%…

Bonking,, Anyone experienced this?
Wow yesterday's workout was rough I'm doing NR4LW.. Week 7 Stage 1 WO B.. I Bonked (I think that's the term) on my shoulder presses. I was up to 20# DB on each side. First set 12 reps next 3 sets I could only hit 7-8 reps... Anyone have experience with Bonking?? (Not to be confused with Boinking... ;-)

Downside
Is there a downside to setting my diary to my BMR (plus a little wiggle room), record total calories burned during workouts (extensive cardio & heavier weight lifting) & eating to the max cals? Or setting the diary for TDEE + % cut for every day consumption (recording just 1 cal burned post workouts)? Trying to "weigh" the…

Question about TDEE
I'm sorry if this question has been answered before but it's the main part of EM2WL that really confuses me. My TDEE if I were sedentary is 1,700 (approximately). My TDEE with my workouts is 2,200. Now, I know for a fact that I rarely burn 500 calories daily during my workouts. So should I just try to NET 1,700 by eating…

If you think this is not for you, some encouragement......
I upped my calories in July and yes it is disheartening gaining weight, I would be lying if I told you otherwise. But you have to watch all the other factors. I am learning that is a teeny tiny piece of progress. It just doesn't bother me so much anymore. I am much more concerned with correcting my metabolism, being…

When do you lower your calorie goal?
Hey folks! So, I'm coming up on almost two months of calorie counting. I have lost about sixteen pounds and I feel like I might be stalling a bit. There are a lot of factors that might be involved in this so I am making an effort to NOT freak out. It's hard for me. :) Anyway, I am wondering if it's time to lower my…

HELP - EM2LW Starter (full of protein & confusions)
Hello, I've just started EM2LW and I just want some help! I dont know if I'm doing it right or I'm making progress of not. So this is my 4th week of reset, I've been upping my cals from 1200 and now im on 2000 + my workout calories (which I record with HRM). I work out 5 times a week doing weights and a little bit of…

Do you think I should do a reset?
Hi! I've been upping my calories slowly instead of all at once. I used to be eating 1000 calories a day, then went to 1100 before I found this group, then decided I needed to get up to around my real eating goal of 1500ish. I'm currently at 1300. However, even though I know this is kindof silly, the mental aspect of seeing…

Could use some advice
So I'm having a hard time figuring out how many calories I need to eat a day. I've been reading and I see that often, if you increase, but not enough - it seems like it backfires! 5'8 156lbs 24 yo female (GW 130) I'm a full-time student so my workouts are variable -- I try to lift 3x/week and 1-2 light cardio if I can... I…

I BROKE THROUGH MY PLATEAU, AND AM NOW DONE LOSING WEIGHT!
(I posted this in the cut progress thread, then realised I should probably make a new topic) Well, I didn't break through my plateau in terms of scale weight, but in MEASUREMENTS and BODY FAT. Which is better anyway, right? After losing the 6 pounds I gained on the reset I now weigh the same as I did before I started. But…

Sleep Eating
Everyone has heard of sleep walking well I eat in my sleep and I mean eat. I have been " caught" by my family so many times that it is routine to find me in the fridge in the middle of the night. I have no idea how much or what I eat I just look for evidence in the morning like this morning I found a half eating piece of…

A Silly Question To Ask, But. . .
This may sound a bit strange, but it's something I need to know. Has anyone lost weight/inches while eating high sodium? I know it is supposed to cause bloat and that it goes away after 2-3 days or something, but what if it's everyday. Will sodium make me get bigger (even if it's not fat gain) and make me stay bigger? The…

New here to this group with a question
Quick question for you. If my TDEE is 2721 for lightly active option does that mean I burn 2721/24=113 cal per hour. Since my major burns are from power walking and cycling do I subtract 113 cal/hr from my total burns? Example- I cycle for 3 hours and burn 1800 cal. To get my correct exercise cal recorded do I take…

Freaked out.
Okay, I have been working out on a somewhat regular schedule, at least 3x/week usually more for about a month (more seriously counting etc in the past 2 weeks.) Usually about 500 calories a day burned for an hour of workout time, I am adding lifting in so I will be working out 6xweek (3 days cardio/ 3 days 5x5 SL…

Question about activity level
Hi all, I have a quick question about entering my activity level into the TDEE calculator. I walk 25 mins to and from college 5 days a week, a total of 50mins/day of walking. I would be walking pretty briskly, but not quite fast enough to raise my heart rate very high. On top of that, I'm currently doing the 30 day shred…

Unpredictable activity level question for TDEE
Hey y'all I'm new to this group. I am currently halfway through my accelerated Doctor of Physical Therapy program... I have always struggled with my weight, not being technically overweight, but larger than I would like. I have been reading a lot lately on this board about "eat more to weigh less" (spent more time than I…

Anyone followed this while breastfeeding?
Hi there, i'm new to the group. I am wondering if anyone has done this while breastfeeding? If so, how old was your baby, how often were you feeding and how many calories did you add to compensate for it? I'm so scared that i'm going to over estimate breastfeeding calories burned or under estimate breastfeeding calories…

Do I need a metabolic reset?
Hello all. I am new to the EMTWL group and need some help. I need help figuring out if I need a metabolic reset or not. I have lost over 100 pounds in the past 9 months on a low calorie/carb diet (approximately 1500 - 1900 calories per day). My BMR is calculated at about 2100 calories and my TDEE is about 2900 calories…

Advice, comments, suggestions very, very welcome!!! My food diary is open for all to view. Some history on me: Weight issue my whole life but was maintaining between 145-150 for the past 3 years.
