Getting so depressed - about to give up...
Let me start by saying that I'm usually a very positive, optimistic person, so I apologize in advance for being a bit of a Debbie Downer. I wholeheartedly agree with the EMTWL philosophy, but I also know that not everything works for every person, so maybe I just need a major tweak. The scale and the inches are not…

HELP - Caloric Intake/Water retention/Muscle Gain
I thought I had this all figured out. I did my numbers on scooby when I first started here 6 weeks ago. However, had my activity as moderate. I've only been doing STS so only working out 3 hours per week. My job is pretty sedentary. I do walk every where I go. My first numbers came up with approx 1800 cals for my daily…

maintaining while reducing BF%
Hi all, I am just about at maintenance after losing 11 kilos since mid-July, but I want to improve my BF %. My stats Female, 44 years old, 5'9, 69 kgs (actually hovering between 68-69 - my goal is 68 or 150 pounds, but as long as I stay around 68-70, I'm cool). BF % early this year 31 %, today 25.7 %. I would like to get…

Not sure I did this right
As I think back to when I started my reset, I realize I wasn't eating my TDEE, I was eating my cut! :embarassed: I did that for 8 weeks and for the last 4 weeks, I didn't do any exercising...nothing. (I think I read somewhere, either the NROL4W or on here to give your body a total break) But after re-reading some of the…

I think I'm done?
I've been following EM2LW since June and have been eating at a 10% cut of 1880 (with the occasional diet break week). The last month or so I've been hovering around 125 pounds (even with 1 break), plus or minus 1-2 depending on the day. Since my weight has been pretty stable since early October, is it safe to say I've most…

Overwhelmed by NROL4W
Ughh. I just got the e-edition two days ago. I've been trying to read it but I'm actually scared. Is this normal? I've never really done any hardcore lifting before. And I'm afraid I'll look like a *kitten* in the gym. "Little fat Tyra trying to work out. Go to the elliptical machine you wannabe." is what my brain is…

Any suggestions from you expert EMTWL-ers?
Reposted this from my status..... I need help friends-- I REALLY want to be as lean/shredded as I can be for a photo shoot on the 2nd of next month (it's a boudoir shoot for hubby's Christmas gift). I'm 5ft 2in and weigh between 111.6 and 112.6 on a normal day. I've been eating at 2100 calories for while now and…

Did you dig far enough?
Hi guys just a picture of encouragement to those on metabolism reset process. Guy on top:is ready to dig it till the end Guy on the bottom:Gave up,had he taken that one step further he would have reaped diamonds. All it takes is "that extra step" to break the wall so you can reap the rewards of EM2WL. Make it through. DONT…

Appropriate for someone with A LOT of weight to lose?
Hi! So I've been doing the low cal thing, and I am always hungry and struggle to stay close to the allowed amount. And it's not working. Is the EM2WL thing working for anyone else who has to lose 100+ pounds? I read on another site that obese people should only do the low cal thing. Just curious if this has worked for…

Increased calories and scale starting to move
I recently purchased a bodymedia fit and it says I burn between 2,200 and 2,400 calories most days so I started basing my cut off this as opposed to the Fitbit, and lo and behold, the scale is moving downward!

Twenty pounds lost!
I still have a long way to go (between 65-85 pounds depending on how ambitious I'm feeling), but I am so excited! I really have EM2WL to thank for this. When I first started (little over two months ago), my first instinct was to eat around 1,500 calories a day. The thought of eating even at my BMR was CRAZY to me and I did…

Anyone on a 1500 mg Sodium a day
My doctor put me on this sodium restriction b/c while I do not have high cholesterol, I have a form of genetic heart disease. She told me it can't be controlled through diet & exercise, however it definitely helps. She also told me to eat less that 7g of saturated fat. My question: Is anyone else in this group on this…

I have been eating wayyy more calories the last 3 days and really nearly binging, so I figured I would maintain or gain maybe .2lbs. I ate half a 14in delivery pizza and I actually lost 1lb in the last few days! lol I'm positive it is not fat gain and muscle loss that fast, especially since my pants fit nicely, er fall off…

My Story So Far
I've shared this with two people already today, and I think some other EM2WL ladies need to hear this. Sometimes even though you are eating more, you are STILL not eating enough. Listen to your bodies! And do NOT be afraid to increase your calories if you aren't losing weight. When in doubt, eat at maintenance for at least…

I dislocated my knee cap today which means no more exercising for 2 weekz During this time, should I eat at my cut percentage? Or perhaps a bit lower (still above my bmr of course) because I'm not going to be active?

And clearly I found my true TDEE for my activity level. Cool. But this morning I woke up haing lost 2 pounds and .5 inch off my waist. Very awesome. Not…

Part 2: serious help needed
So sounds obvious to some but someone suggested that every time I up my calories I gain weight so I should decrease them, well duh right? But I thought according to EM2WL says your body hoards calories until you feed it enough and it adjusts, so with that I should keep eating at 2200-2400 and wait it out?? Or say F it and…

New to this group and have a question
I've been reading about 'Eat more 2 Weigh less' all day and I'm more than ready to jump in and do this right. it just makes perfect sense to fuel your body the right way. I don't care if it takes double the time to lose the weight, if its done right. my question is this: I gave birth to a healthy baby only 3 months ago, so…

Month 6 and I've only Gained - What's up?
I've been on MFP for 6 months now. I found the EM2WL group relatively early on and followed the advice of eating at 30% below TDEE and to date, as of this morning I have GAINED 11 pounds. I work out 3 to 4 times a week lifting and do a moderate amount of walking and am just trying to figure out what is going on here. I eat…

Is this considered to be normal?
Hey ya'll! I am in a dilema...I have gained a total of 10 official pounds since I started my reset and cut. :grumble: I have been "blue" for a while with stuff going on in my personal life. I have been able to get in at least 2 workouts a week, and sometimes 3. I have been at this for 3 weeks. I know that most of it is due…

vegan dietary help
Hey guys and gals. I am new to EM2WL and have adopted the vegan lifestyle. I have never felt better in my life, but am running into a major problem...NOT ENOUGH PROTEIN. I love to eat, and I love working out and even do incorporate some weight training into my regimen (although I do not lift heavy...at least not yet). I…

Working On the Food...Now
So I'm getting pretty good at eating more on purpose. Yay me. I haven't always made the best choices, especially when traveling/visiting/football watching. I put the chic out of my head that says mean stuff and I've come to grips with actually buying whole milk on purpose. Great. So now I think this is the best time to…
