High cholestoral
so last year my LDL was 227. In January of this year I cut out all processed food, sugar and junk. I started walking a few times a day. I have lost 55 pounds and just had my blood tested. My LDL is now 268! and they said I am now a prediabetic. Did this happen to anyone else?

Similarly good groups for Low Carb, Keto, and Clean Eating?
I am on the newer side of MFP Groups, and have found three that I like. Besides the ones I mentioned here, are there any others that are good? By good, I mean they stick to the point of the group, have mostly positive and encouraging posts, even when people disagree on opinions, and are well-moderated to help people get…

GET DAT REAR IN GEAR July 2021
It's not summer for some of us. It's winter in the southern part of the globe. Or you can take the position of the sunny side and remember we're smack dab in the throes of the oh-so-lovely 2021, still freakin' dealing with Covid's nonsense... Whatever the season (or global catastrophe :unamused: ), the month of July is as…

Any and all artificial sweeteners put a 'spell' on me. I simply cannot use them.
Anyone else have problems with any 0 GI artificial sweeteners? I had a lot of success with keto back in 2017, fell off the wagon since, gained plus some, and here I am into week 7 today of very low carb, IF. I was doing a 24 hour fast last week, and decided to add different sweeteners like xylitol, and stevia to the teas I…

Has anyone else find pork rhinds to be their trigger food?
I know pork rhinds dont have carbs but do have calories. Just today I decided not to eat them, I get too carried away with these Salt and Vinegar pork rhinds. Weight is edging up and I want to catch it before too much damage is done. Have ya found any low carb foods to be a trigger for you? Low carb has worked so good for…

Trying to understand Anti Inflammatory Grains
Anti Inflammatory Diet noted that.... Whole grains, beans and lentils for fiber and nutrients. Focus on intact whole grains such as oats, quinoa, farro and brown rice (to name a few) rather than loading up on foods made with whole grain flour, such as bread, tortillas and crackers. Although many anti-inflammatory diets…

Active April Challenge 2021
It's Active April folks. The word "active" is a loaded word. Not only can it apply to exercise, but it can also mean "characterized by action rather than by contemplation or speculation." Feeling a little desperate:/ (Keto-pation)
Been keto for a month, losing weight and very happy with everything EXCEPT that my digestive system appears to have come to a grinding halt over the past 3 weeks. For the first week it worked a little too well but then it gradually stopped functioning and now it's been 5 days without relief. As you can probably tell, I…

Fenugreek to lower BG
One of the supplements I have been using lately to help with BG is Fenugreek based on some research showing benefit. It is one of a few I have been using since the beginning of April and my BG (fasting and PP) is down a few points so I have started digging in to find more data on those I am using and wanted to share this…

Changing up my diet slightly this morning.
I may well be getting into the weeds of Keto this morning, but I've decided to tweak my diet slightly and remove my 5 day a week Vanilla Pudding ( 7 carbs). This will have the effect of shifting my macro's significantly more in line with a traditional KETO profile. In leu of Pudding, I will be replacing it with 60 - 150…

Coffee and Tea! What kind of coffee and tea are your favorites?
I love highland grogg coffee from berres brothers. I bought some pumpkin spice and hazelnut from Aldi's that are good. When I workout I want some strong coffee so I bought medium roast from Aldi's as well. For Tea, I love Stash peach black tea, chai teas, and wild raspberry hibiscus. What do you all drink?

Magic Spoon the latest addition to our meal repertoire.
Okay, maybe it's not wholesome in the home cooked way... But this stuff is pretty freaking amazing, and based on the ingredients an argument could certainly be made that this stuff is actually pretty healthy and certainly low carb. Only downside is it's expense... Cost 67 Canadian for 5 boxes, thankfully shipping was only…

trouble eating all my calories
My TDEE minus 500 is 1971 but I have trouble eating more than 1300-1700 most days on Keto (been on keto since the 22nd of March and loving it:). Will it be a problem long term to eat lower calories in this range? or is it fine to just listen to my body and eat till I'm satisfied and when I'm hungry. I am losing weight and…

Decreasing calories as I lose weight?
Been doing keto for almost 2 weeks and lost 5 pounds so far (some of which I'm sure is water, but still happy with it:) My carbs are around 20-35 a day and I am just getting used to the things I can eat etc. I feel no desire to eat high carb foods and really enjoy eating this way. I am doing IF as well, 14/10 but may try…
