I'm sorry man, I was in your shoes once. Was pondering posting or not. Bulking at 20% sucks. You can end up putting on way too much fat, and you'll just look fat. BTDT, trying to atone for past sins now and it's really hard. Just consider getting down to 12% (while training) before bulking. You'll be glad you did.

For weight loss? Cycling is a fine cardiovascular activity. The calorie deficit is what does it though. Weight training will make you healthier and give you better body composition. .5kg weights are not strength training.

Use Jefit. Then at the end it will give you an amount of time spent lifitng (for example, 15 minutes for a 45 minute workout.) Use this time (15 minutes example) and track Cardio exercise - strength training.

Protein shakes don't add bulk. Too many calories add bulk. protein is a very, very important macronutrient when using weight loss.

TDEE makes a lot more sense when you throw out the eat-back-your-exercise-calorie model in MFP. I'd be happy to help with it - do you have any specific questions?

It's really hard to calculate bicycle calories accurately. There's no way to account for cadence, incline, wind resistance, and how often you're coasting vs pedaling. I suppose you could use a heart rate monitor, but in my experience, it gives a ridiculous amount of calories for the effort. MPH is pretty bad indicator.…
